This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy broad responsibilities, technical ownership, and making a visible impact on complex, high-end computing systems. You will be responsible for developing software applications used to manage and operate advanced rack-scale computing systems. These applications form a key part of the platform used across multiple products within the Embedded Computing Systems Business Line. About About the role Working closely with software architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary project teams, you will design, implement, and validate application software based on functional requirements and architectural specifications. You will work across the full software stack, developing user-facing functionality in Elm and reliable, high-performance backend services in Rust. Responsibilities This setup provides short communication lines, broad responsibilities, and significant ownership, allowing you to influence technical decisions and see the direct impact of your work on the management and operation of high-end computing systems. You will operate in a challenging, high-tech environment where software, electronics, and mechanics come together to create innovative products and systems. The other responsibilities are: Taking full ownership of software features and subsystems, leading all phases from requirements analysis and design to implementation, testing, and validation, with particular attention to user interaction and usability. Designing, implementing and testing APIs and interfaces between software components, services, and underlying hardware. Contributing to the evolution of a common software platform that can be reused across multiple products. Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, architecture, and technical standards. Collaborating with software, electronics, and system engineers to define, implement and validate integrated solutions. Troubleshooting and resolving complex software and system-level issues across both the application layer and the underlying platform. Strong programming skills in Rust, C and Python. Preferably experience with Elm. Experience developing applications and services on Linux. Experience building both front-end and back-end software systems. Experience with software architecture, RESTful API design, and communication between front-end and backend components.
Core Responsibilities
Own software features and subsystems from requirements analysis and design through implementation, testing, and validation, with a focus on usability. Develop frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and hardware interfaces while contributing to a reusable software platform and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex system issues.
Requirements
A bachelor's or master's degree in embedded systems, computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field is required, along with at least five years of software development experience, including three years in full-stack development. Candidates should have strong Rust, C, and Python skills, Linux application development experience, frontend and backend experience, and knowledge of software architecture and RESTful APIs; Elm experience is preferred.
