Wind Instrument Repair Technician – Matthew’s Music 📍 Edam, The Netherlands 🕒 Full-time / Part-time About Us Matthew’s Music is a long-established musical wind instrument store with over 30 years of experience in sales, repairs, and restoration of both new and pre-owned instruments. Based in the historic town of Edam, just 20 km north of Amsterdam, we offer expert guidance and top-tier service to musicians of all levels—from beginners to seasoned professionals. Our in-house workshop is a vital part of our operation, ensuring each instrument is performing at its best. (matthewsmuziek.nl) Key Responsibilities Diagnosis & Repair: Inspect and repair woodwind and brass instruments (flutes/clarinets/sax). Maintenance & Overhauls: Perform routine maintenance and complete overhauls to ensure optimal instrument performance. Customer Communication: Provide clear explanations of repair options and recommendations to customers. Team Collaboration: Assist with general store duties as part of a small, dedicated team Requirements Instrument Proficiency: Playing a wind instrument is a prerequisite. This hands-on experience enhances understanding of instrument functionality and musician needs. Experience: Previous experience in wind instrument repair is a plus, but not essential—training is available. Skills: Excellent craftsmanship and strong attention to detail. Work Ethic: Self-motivated and able to work efficiently. Language: Fluent English is essential; Dutch is helpful but not mandatory. Core Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain, and overhaul woodwind and brass instruments, including flutes, clarinets, and saxophones. Explain repair options and recommendations to customers and assist with general store duties as part of a small team.

Requirements

Applicants must play a wind instrument and demonstrate excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work efficiently. Previous repair experience is helpful but not essential because training is available; fluent English and a long-term commitment are required, while Dutch is helpful but optional.
