Volunteer Program ManagerAI Decision Control Forum Location: Remote / Europe-friendly Time commitment: 2–4 hours per week Type: Volunteer / Part-time Start date: 1 November 2026 About AI Decision Control Forum The AI Decision Control Forum is a practitioner-led initiative focused on a critical question: How do we ensure humans remain meaningfully in control as AI systems increasingly influence and make decisions? We bring together practitioners, researchers, technology leaders, governance professionals and other experts to exchange practical knowledge, develop frameworks and create conversations around AI decision governance, human oversight and responsible AI implementation. The Opportunity We are looking for a Volunteer Program Manager to help build and coordinate our volunteer community as the Forum grows. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building communities, creating structure and turning people’s willingness to contribute into meaningful programmes and outcomes. You will work closely with the Founder and other Forum volunteers to coordinate volunteer activities, improve engagement and help create a professional and sustainable volunteer programme. What You’ll Do Coordinate and support the Forum’s volunteer team Help onboard new volunteers and ensure they understand their responsibilities Maintain clear roles, responsibilities and expectations across volunteer activities Coordinate volunteer schedules, tasks and programme milestones Organise regular volunteer check-ins and internal communications Identify gaps in volunteer capacity and help recruit suitable contributors Support volunteers in delivering Forum events, workshops and community initiatives Create simple processes for tracking volunteer activities and progress Help recognise and retain active contributors Gather feedback from volunteers and continuously improve the programme Work with the Founder and programme leads to ensure volunteer activities align with the Forum’s mission What We’re Looking For You don't need to have worked in AI governance before. We are particularly interested in people with experience in: Volunteer or community management Programme or project coordination Community building Event coordination Non-profit or social-impact organisations People operations or team coordination Professional communities or membership organisations You should be someone who: Is organised and dependable Communicates clearly and professionally Can coordinate people without micromanaging them Is comfortable working with volunteers in a remote environment Can create structure where processes are still evolving Takes initiative and follows through Is genuinely interested in AI governance and responsible AI Understands that volunteers need both autonomy and clear expectations What You’ll Gain This is an opportunity to contribute to an emerging international initiative at the intersection of AI, governance and human decision-making. The role is intended for someone who is genuinely motivated by the Forum's mission and interested in helping build something meaningful from an early stage. The AI Decision Control Forum is a practitioner-led initiative. Volunteers are expected to represent the Forum professionally and to keep external activities, commercial interests and personal business promotion separate from Forum programmes and events. Core Responsibilities

Coordinate and support the Forum’s volunteer team, including onboarding, role clarity, schedules, communications, check-ins, and recruitment. Develop simple processes to track progress, support events and initiatives, retain contributors, gather feedback, and align volunteer activities with the Forum’s mission.

Requirements

Applicants should be organised, dependable, proactive, and able to communicate clearly while coordinating remote volunteers without micromanaging them. Experience in volunteer or community management, programme or project coordination, events, people operations, or professional communities is relevant; prior AI governance experience is not required, but interest in responsible AI is expected.
