THE TEAM
As part of our Finance & Purchasing team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the hotel operates efficiently through effective procurement practices and strong supplier partnerships. Working closely with operational departments, suppliers, and finance colleagues, you will support the Director of Purchasing in managing the end-to-end procurement function while helping drive operational excellence across the property. Reporting directly to the Director of Purchasing, you will also provide day-to-day guidance and support to the Purchasing team, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing environment.
YOUR ROLE
As Assistant Purchasing Manager, you will support the leadership and management of the Purchasing department, helping to ensure that products and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with company standards. Through your procurement expertise, analytical mindset, and ability to build strong supplier relationships, you will contribute to inventory optimization, cost control, process improvements, and the smooth operation of the hotel. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining procurement excellence while supporting the ongoing development of the purchasing team.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE
- Support the Director of Purchasing in the daily management of the Purchasing Department and act as a key point of contact in their absence.
- Oversee purchasing activities and support the team in processing purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Review supplier agreements and support negotiations on pricing, service levels, and commercial terms.
- Monitor inventory levels, replenishment activities, and purchasing requirements across departments.
- Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, company standards, and purchasing best practices.
- Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.
COULD THIS BE YOU?
- You have experience within purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management, ideally within a hospitality environment.
- You possess strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control principles.
- You are confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and have experience with procurement platforms such as Birchstreet.
- You are an effective communicator who can build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- You have experience supporting, guiding, or mentoring team members and enjoy helping others succeed.
- You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies.
