Position: Trainee Treasury Analyst
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Department: Treasury EMEA/APAC
Duration: 6-month internship
Start Date: As soon as possible
Reporting to: Treasury Manager and Treasury Director (Paris)
We are seeking a motivated Treasury Analyst Trainee to join our EMEA/APAC Treasury team. The successful candidate will support the Treasury Analysts and gain hands-on experience across all key treasury activities, including cash management, treasury operations, banking relationships, compliance, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cash & Liquidity Management
- Update, adjust, and forecast daily cash positions using multiple banking platforms.
- Upload and reconcile daily bank statements.
- Investigate and resolve cash flow discrepancies with local business units and banking partners.
- Process bank transfer requests and ensure compliance with payment security procedures.
- Create and maintain secure payment templates.
- Verify Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs).
- Support the monitoring and optimization of cash pooling structures.
2. Treasury Market Operations & Back Office
- Monitor Foreign Exchange (FX), Interest Rate (IR), and Commodities transactions within the Treasury Management System.
- Prepare dealing tickets for FX and commodity transactions.
- Process credit advices and monitor premium fixings.
- Follow up on maturing FX transactions and coordinate with internal stakeholders regarding settlement, rollover, or maturity decisions.
- Ensure trade data accuracy and completeness in treasury systems.
3. Treasury Reporting, Netting & Controls
- Participate in the monthly intercompany netting process.
- Analyze netting data and manage related approval workflows.
- Prepare monthly treasury activity reports covering FX, commodities, and other treasury activities.
- Perform SOX controls and ensure treasury documentation is complete and properly approved.
- Monitor and report monthly interest payments.
4. Corporate Banking, Compliance & Treasury Projects
- Support bank account management activities, including account openings and closures.
- Maintain treasury banking databases and account inventories.
- Assist with KYC documentation and compliance reviews.
- Coordinate with banks and internal stakeholders to obtain required treasury documentation.
- Support treasury projects, including banking RFPs and credit facility requests.
- Assist business units with treasury-related requests and banking matters.

Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Finance or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Results-oriented with a proactive mindset.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Interest in corporate treasury, banking, and financial markets.
- Experience with Treasury Management Systems (TMS), particularly Kyriba, is a plus.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
