Job Description
About the role
Location: Amsterdam, the Netherlands
V is looking for a Product Manager to own payments, checkout and subscriptions. You will shape how customers across multiple European markets discover, buy and keep paying for our services, from standalone subscriptions to partner bundles.
You will own the backlog and requirements end to end, working closely with engineering, UX/UI, operations and business stakeholders. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows the payment lifecycle in depth and can turn it into products that convert and retain.
What you'll do
You will build the commerce layer of the VIDAA platform: how viewers buy and manage subscriptions, bundles and content directly on their smart TV, often with a remote control and a phone as a second screen.
- Own the roadmap and backlog for payments, checkout, subscriptions and billing across VIDAA's consumer services in the B2C Squad.
- Write clear PRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria that engineering can build from without constant clarification.
- Map end-to-end flows and edge cases, such as failed payments, expired cards and authorization handoffs between the TV and a mobile device (QR code, OTP or companion app).
- Work with our PSP partners to launch and optimize payment methods, including local payment methods per market.
- Design recurring billing journeys: trials, renewals, proration, dunning, retry logic and payment method updates.
- Shape catalog, pricing, bundle and promotion capabilities for standalone subscriptions and bundles with content and TV manufacturer partners.
- Define KPIs and track conversion, ARPU, churn, LTV, payment success rate and recovery rate; run and interpret A/B tests.
- Deliver against fixed launch dates, often tied to new TV model launches, across multiple markets, keeping compliance (PSD2/SCA, 3DS) and UX in balance.
What you bring
Experience
- 3–5 years in product management, including at least 2 years owning payments, checkout or subscription/billing products end to end.
- At least one payments or commerce feature shipped to production in a regulated market (EU/UK strongly preferred).
- Experience in a cross-functional team with engineering, UX/UI, operations and business stakeholders, where you owned the backlog and requirements rather than just coordinating.
Payments domain knowledge
- Solid grasp of the payment lifecycle: authorization, capture, refunds, chargebacks, settlement and reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience integrating with a PSP (Adyen ideally; Stripe, Checkout.com or Worldpay also welcome), including local payment methods.
- Working knowledge of PSD2/SCA and 3DS, and how they affect conversion and UX.
- Understanding of recurring billing: trials, renewals, proration, dunning, retry logic, involuntary churn and payment method updates.
Ecommerce and subscription mindset
- Experience with product catalog, pricing, bundles and promotions, across both standalone subscriptions and partner bundles.
- Comfortable with subscription metrics: conversion, ARPU, churn, LTV, payment success rate and recovery rate.
Core PM skills
- You write clear PRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- You map flows and edge cases thoroughly, such as failed payments, expired cards or authorization handoffs between devices.
- You are data-literate: you define KPIs, read funnels, and run or interpret A/B tests.
- You manage delivery against fixed launch dates across multiple markets.
Strong nice-to-haves
- Multi-country rollout experience covering localization, local payment methods, tax/VAT and currency handling.
- Payments on non-standard surfaces such as smart TV, connected devices, in-app, or second-screen/OTP authentication.
- Loyalty or rewards programs (points, credits, redemption), an area our roadmap is moving into.
- Exposure to account and identity topics: profiles, permissions, re-authentication and fraud/risk tooling.
- Fluency in French, German, Italian or Spanish.
Core Responsibilities
You will own the roadmap and backlog for payments, checkout, and subscription services on the VIDAA platform. This involves mapping end-to-end flows, managing PSP integrations, and defining KPIs to optimize conversion and retention.
Requirements
The role requires 3–5 years of product management experience with at least 2 years specifically in payments or subscription products. Candidates must have a solid grasp of the payment lifecycle, regulatory compliance like PSD2/SCA, and experience working in cross-functional teams.
