As a data engineer, you are responsible for the implementation of the foundations of data-intensive systems. You develop enabling infrastructure to store, transform, and process data at scale and in the cloud. You make sure that data is stored safely and securely using the technology that you see fit for the job. What you will do to make data-intensive applications work effectively and securely? With your knowledge of software engineering, cloud, clusters, queues, containers, streaming, or graphs, you’ll be working on the backbone of the data infrastructure. There’s a lot of data to store, many jobs to run and schedule, and many configurations to be dealt with. But don’t worry, this is where you’ll thrive. You’ll work at the client in teams that are a mix of people from Xebia and the client, picking up the work that is related to that backbone on which the team is building. Core Responsibilities

Build and maintain the cloud-based infrastructure and foundations for data-intensive systems, including systems for storing, transforming, and processing data at scale. Work with client teams on the data infrastructure backbone, ensuring systems are robust, secure, and able to support data jobs and configurations.

Requirements

The role requires at least five years of relevant professional experience, though candidates with outstanding achievements may apply regardless of experience level. Candidates should have software engineering and cloud knowledge, enjoy coding and open-source technology, be fluent in Dutch, and live in North Brabant, Limburg, or Gelderland.
