Job Description
Step into the World of Superyacht Technology – Become Our International Field Service Engineer Bring high-end AV/IT systems to life on board the world’s most extraordinary superyachts As an International Field Service Engineer at VBH, you are the person who makes sure our high-end AV/IT systems are not only installed correctly, but also work exactly as they should on board. You will be travelling regularly. From Dutch shipyards and different locations across Europe to yachts further afield, depending on the project. Travel is not an exception in this role — it is part of the job. You enjoy that variety, like working in different environments and get energy from discovering new places while working on new projects. You are hands-on, technically strong and enjoy solving problems. When a system does not perform as expected, you want to understand why, find the right solution and make sure the client can move forward with a system that works properly. At VBH, you are part of a team you can rely on. You work closely with engineers, installers, project managers and colleagues on site. We are an open and approachable organisation where people work closely together and help each other when needed. Even when you are travelling, you know there is a team behind you. Where will you work? Your home base will be either Weesp, the Netherlands, or Antibes, France. The work itself is the same, but your location and local employment conditions will differ. International travel is an important part of the role. Being based in the Netherlands also means easy access to Schiphol. With Schiphol Privium as part of the package, international travel is made a little easier when heading to your next project. Based in France From our Antibes office, you will be travelling regularly to shipyards and yachts along the Mediterranean coast. This means spending a lot of time on the road, with projects taking you along the coastline between Barcelona and Genoa. You enjoy the variety that comes with being on the move, working in different locations and adapting to changing project environments. What will you be doing? As an International Field Service Engineer, you are responsible for the technical execution on site. Lead and coordinate the installation of AV/IT systems and equipment on board. Commission and test systems and check that they meet the technical specifications, drawings and requirements. Analyse technical issues, troubleshoot problems and correct deviations. Act as the technical point of contact for clients, suppliers and project partners. Explain systems to clients and provide technical guidance so they can operate the systems correctly. Record changes and updates for revision documentation and share relevant feedback with Engineering. Ensure that work is carried out according to applicable HSE and quality requirements. Represent VBH during project meetings and in communication with clients on site. Think actively about improvements and share practical ideas based on your experience in the field. You are not only installing systems.
