Job Description

Are you an experienced finance professional who thrives on ownership, structure, and getting the numbers exactly right? As Senior Financial Controller, you take the lead on financial control for our Dutch HQ and our local hub in Spain, and you own consolidation for the entire group. Not just closing the books, all of it: local reporting, group consolidation, audit, and the financial processes that hold a fast-growing international business together. This is a hands-on, technical role, where you'll report directly to the Head of Finance rather than build out a team of your own. As a global leader in wind turbine spare parts and refurbishments and the leading independent online marketplace for the wind energy aftermarket, our business moves quickly across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, with entities active in the Netherlands, the United States, India, and Spain. Backed by our investors we are on a clear growth trajectory, including further acquisitions, we need a Senior Financial Controller who can own the financial backbone to match our ambition, and who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves as that ambition takes shape. Core Responsibilities Financial Control & Reporting Own financial control for our Dutch HQ and our local hub in Spain, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Ensure our accounts are maintained in line with local Dutch GAAP, with an eye toward a potential future transition to IFRS as the group continues to grow. Act as the main point of contact for the annual audit, preparing audit files and managing the process from planning to sign-off. Group Consolidation Manage consolidation of the group's entities across the Netherlands, the United States, India, and Spain. Manage intercompany eliminations and ensure intercompany positions reconcile cleanly across entities. Support the integration of future acquisitions into the consolidated group accounts, from opening balance sheets to aligned reporting processes. Process & Controls Improvement Help improve stock valuation methodology and strengthen the inventory financial workstream across the business. Identify and implement improvements to financial controls, processes, and systems as the group scales. Support ad hoc finance projects as they arise; in a fast-growing investor-backed business, the priority list evolves, and you'll help shape it. Team & Stakeholder Support Support the wider finance team with technical accounting questions and day-to-day guidance. Partner closely with local finance colleagues in the US, India and other entities to ensure consistent group reporting standards. Work directly with management and, where relevant, our investors on financial reporting matters. What You Bring A completed degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; any post-master accounting degrees are strong plus. Deep technical expertise in group consolidation, IC eliminations, and multi-GAAP reporting. Strong working knowledge of Dutch GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is a plus. Experience managing statutory audits and, ideally, hands-on experience drafting annual reports. Comfortable with intercompany eliminations, consolidation adjustments, and inventory/stock valuation topics. A background in external audit or accountancy (Big 4 or mid-tier) is a strong plus, giving you the rigor and structure this role needs. Excellent professional English, written and verbal; Dutch and/or Spanish are a plus given our HQ location and the local Spanish hub. Comfortable moving beyond spreadsheets: strong ERP experience is essential, and affinity with data/BI tools or finance automation is a real advantage as we modernize our stack. Odoo experience is a plus. A structured, hands-on mentality with a genuine interest in improving how things work, not just reporting on them. Willingness to travel occasionally to our hub in Spain and, as needed, to other group entities. What We Offer A high-impact, high-visibility role at the financial heart of a fast-growing, investor-backed company in the renewable energy sector. Genuine influence over how the group's finance function scales, including through future acquisitions. An informal, entrepreneurial culture where initiative is valued. A competitive salary, based on knowledge and skills. A premium, fully employer-paid pension scheme. Full-time role (40h) with a hybrid working model. Office days in Rotterdam combined with working from home. Team events and social activities throughout the year.

Core Responsibilities

Own financial control and reporting for the Dutch headquarters and Spanish hub, including statutory audits and improvements to financial processes and controls. Manage group consolidation across entities in the Netherlands, the United States, India, and Spain, including intercompany eliminations and integration of future acquisitions.

Requirements

A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, with post-master accounting qualifications considered a strong advantage. The role calls for deep consolidation and multi-GAAP expertise, Dutch GAAP knowledge, audit experience, strong ERP skills, professional English, and a structured, hands-on approach.

Benefits

  • Employer-Paid Pension Scheme
  • Hybrid Working
  • Team Events and Social Activities
