Job Description

APG Asset Management is looking to expand its Global Private Equity Co-Investments team with at least three hires in Amsterdam. We are considering candidates with varying levels of experience and hiring for roles from Associate to Portfolio Manager to Senior Portfolio Manager. Job titles, responsibilities, and compensation will be commensurate with a candidate’s level of experience. APG’s Global Private Equity team has employees in APG’s New York, Amsterdam, and Hong Kong offices, with dedicated groups for Fund Investments and Co-Investments strategies. The Co-investments team currently has 18 investment professionals based in New York and Amsterdam and is looking to expand the Amsterdam office with these new hires. APG’s Co-investments team is highly active, having invested over €13bn across approximately 175 deals globally. You will work as part of the Global Private Equity Co-Investments team making direct equity investments in primarily growth and buyout transactions alongside our relationship private equity managers across a range of sectors, with a focus on investment opportunities in the Netherlands and broader Europe. You will collaborate closely with team members in New York, playing an essential role in the execution of co-investments. Your thorough due diligence and analyses will be key in assessing new co-investment opportunities, as well as in monitoring our co-investment portfolio. What You Would Do Responsibilities will vary based on level of seniority (i.e., Associate to Portfolio Manager to Senior Portfolio Manager) but generally will include: Performing diligence and analysis to inform the selection of attractive co-investments across a range of industries and geographies, and including through APG’s Impact Investing mandate; Preparation and presentation of investment proposals to Investment Committee; Monitoring performance of portfolio companies, including evaluation of follow-on investment opportunities; Developing and managing GP relationships from a Co-Invest perspective; Assisting with various APG strategic projects; And contributing to APG’s continued global leadership in responsible investing. What You Bring As a member of the Co-Investments team, you are intellectually curious and eager to learn, have strong analytical / technical skills (including financial modelling), and are able to work productively both individually and within a team setting. You work in a structured way and have clear and effective communication and presentation skills. Additional requirements and competencies include: Approximately 3 to 12+ years of relevant work experience in the fields of private equity, M&A, and investment banking; A strong academic record with a Master’s degree or equivalent; Solid communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form; Ability to manage multiple projects / investments at any given time; Excellent people skills with positive attitude and disposition; Proactive and diligent with strong attention to detail. Requirements

Candidates should have approximately 3 to 12+ years of relevant experience in private equity, M&A, or investment banking, a strong academic record, and a master's degree or equivalent. They should bring strong analytical and financial modeling skills, effective English communication, the ability to manage multiple investments, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
