Your Mission

You will report to our SVP HR and Communications.The Facility Lead has 2 direct reports: a Facility Specialist and a Facility Coordinator

The Facility Lead is mostly responsible for the location Westerlaan Rotterdam (Global Office and home of BU NL) and has partial responsibility for the 5 overarching contracts of the Westerlaan office and 3 terminals (Fleet Management, Security, Cleaning, Catering, Reception). This contains contract negotiations (together with Procurement) and possible tender processes when these large contracts are expiring after 3 to 5 years. 

This position is responsible for a safe workplace and office environment for our colleagues, co-workers, visitors and suppliers. 

What will you be doing? 

Key accountabilities include managing 2 team members, periodic contract management, general upkeep of the building, safety & security and financial management.

• Responsible for planning and organizing facility services of the Westerlaan office: hard services (repair & maintenance), soft services (hospitality, cleaning, security and catering) and minor workspace modifications /  office layout alterations.
• Manage a team of 2 persons and take responsibility for stakeholder management with our senior management.
• Contract Management,  including Fleet Management, Security, Cleaning, Catering and Reception.
• Financial Management; compile yearly budget, approve purchase orders and invoices. Manage all activities in line with the budget.

We are looking for an agile, proactive Facility Lead, who thrives in a versatile environment where scope and role distribution are continuously refined. You don't wait for step-by-step instructions, you take initiative to make things better.

Due to the nature of this position, daily physical office presence is required.

• Education & Experience:
  Bachelor degree in Facility Management, paired with hands on experience and 5 years of leading Facility operations in a complex international setting.
• Safety & Security, compliance:
  Overarching systems: you work together with the supplier and with Facility and SHEQ-teams of the Terminals
• Act as Head of Emergency Response (Hoofd BHV):
  mainly for changes, improvements and understanding of the Emergency Response Plan / RI&E
• Communication:
  Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with full fluency in Dutch and English.
