About the Role
As a Logistics Engineer, you will support a portfolio of Contract Logistics operations across Western and Southern Europe, helping to drive operational excellence, productivity improvements, and successful customer implementations.
Working closely with site leadership, operations teams, solution design, project management, and customers, you will provide engineering expertise across both established and newly launched operations. This includes analysing performance, identifying improvement opportunities, supporting network optimisation initiatives, and ensuring new facilities are implemented and transitioned successfully into stable day-to-day operations.
The role offers a combination of continuous improvement, operational support, and project-based work, with opportunities to contribute to both existing customer operations and new business launches across the region.
* Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 30-60%) across Western and Southern Europe, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, and Turkey, to support operational sites, improvement projects, and new customer implementations.
How You Will Contribute
- Support the implementation and launch of new Contract Logistics facilities, ensuring approved designs are delivered effectively and safely.
- Coordinate warehouse fit-out activities, including infrastructure installation, equipment deployment, layout execution, commissioning, and operational readiness.
- Conduct site acceptance testing, operational validation, and launch readiness assessments.
- Develop and maintain labour planning models, capacity plans, productivity calculations, and operational engineering tools.
- Analyse operational data to identify opportunities to improve productivity, service levels, resource utilisation, and cost efficiency.
- Support operational teams with workflow optimisation, process improvements, and performance enhancement initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement projects using structured problem-solving approaches and Lean methodologies.
- Monitor implementation activities, identify risks or deviations from approved designs, and support change management processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and operational stabilisation.
- Promote a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all activities.
What You Will Bring
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics engineering, warehouse operations, contract logistics, operational excellence, or implementation projects, ideally across multiple industries (Automotive, Chemicals, Industrial)
- Knowledge of labour planning, capacity modelling, productivity analysis, and process improvement methodologies.
- Ability to analyse operational data and translate findings into practical business improvements.
- Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS), logistics technologies, or operational performance reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data visualisation or reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams. A proactive approach to learning, continuous improvement, and professional development, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
