Samskip is looking for an experienced Sales Executive to take commercial ownership of the Swedish market and further strengthen our position within the Scandinavian logistics landscape. This is a role for a commercially astute sales professional who combines business development with account management and understands how to build sustainable customer relationships in an international B2B environment.
As Sales Executive – Region Sweden, you will be responsible for developing and expanding Samskip’s customer portfolio, identifying new business opportunities and translating market potential into profitable, long-term business.
You will operate at the intersection of customer needs, market dynamics and Samskip’s multimodal network, working closely with colleagues across Sales, Trade, Customer Service, Operations and Finance.
Based at our headquarters in Rotterdam, you will have the autonomy to develop your market while being part of an experienced and internationally connected sales organization.
You are an experienced B2B sales professional with a strong commercial mindset and a proven ability to develop business in an international environment.
You understand that successful sales in logistics go beyond securing individual shipments or contracts. You are able to understand a customer’s wider supply chain, identify strategic opportunities and build relationships that create sustainable value for both the customer and Samskip.
You are commercially driven, structured and persistent. You are comfortable engaging with decision-makers, leading complex negotiations and working with multiple stakeholders to turn opportunities into results.
You bring:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in B2B sales, business development or commercial account management.
- A demonstrable track record in business development, customer acquisition and portfolio growth.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closing.
- Experience within intermodal, rail, road transport or logistics; experience with multimodal solutions is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of, or demonstrable commercial experience in, the Swedish market.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate market and customer insights into business opportunities.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to engage confidently with different levels of an organization, including senior decision-makers.
- A structured approach to pipeline management, forecasting and CRM.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, combined with sound commercial judgement.
- A strong focus on revenue growth, profitability and long-term customer value.
- The ability to work independently while operating effectively within an international matrix organization.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach to different customers and stakeholders.
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken. German or another European language is considered an advantage.
Your primary focus will be market development and new business acquisition, with a particular emphasis on opportunities aligned with Samskip’s rail and intermodal network. At the same time, you will manage and further develop an existing customer portfolio, identifying opportunities to increase share of wallet, strengthen relationships and improve profitability.
You will develop a strong understanding of your customers’ business, supply chains and strategic priorities and use this insight to position Samskip as a long-term logistics partner.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and execute a commercial growth strategy for Region Sweden in line with Samskip’s broader regional objectives.
- Drive commercial growth for the Region Sweden by developing and executing a clear sales strategy aligned with Samskip’s regional objectives.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities, from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and contract closure, with a strong focus on sustainable revenue and profitability.
- Manage and grow key customer relationships, acting as a trusted commercial partner and identifying opportunities to increase customer value and share of wallet.
- Monitor the market and customer landscape, including supply chains, cargo flows, pricing and competitive developments, to identify opportunities and anticipate risks.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, ensuring accurate CRM management, forecasting and regular reporting on commercial performance and priorities.
- Collaborate across the organisation with Sweden Trade, Customer Service, Operations, Finance and other stakeholders to deliver commercially viable solutions and support broader sales initiatives.
The role combines commercial autonomy with strong international collaboration. You will be expected to take ownership of your market, make informed commercial decisions and proactively drive opportunities from identification through to execution. Based at Samskip’s headquarters in Rotterdam with a hybrid working model, you will have the autonomy to develop the Swedish market while working closely with the General Sales Manager Region West and international colleagues.
This role combines commercial ownership and independence with strong cross-functional collaboration, giving you the opportunity to make a visible impact on Samskip’s growth for the Region Sweden.

Requirements
Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in B2B sales or business development within the logistics or transport sector. A strong understanding of the Swedish market and proficiency in Dutch and English are required.
