As a Transport Planner, you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team responsible for delivering the highest quality of service with the most optimal cost to an internationally dedicated client base. The main purpose of your role is to be responsible for a correct settlement of all transport orders of the customers of Multimodal Solutions, linked to the administrative and operational activities of all employees involved. Maintaining a correct and timely flow of communication between Customer Service and hauliers/drivers, to achieve optimum performance and maximum efficiency. Transport Planner Location: Europoort, Rotterdam Hours: Full time, 36.25 hours per week Key Responsibilities Taking care of a correct settlement of all transport orders wherein Multimodal Solutions client’s wishes/demands are central. Combining loads to optimize the load factor, taking into account of loading/unloading areas, wishes/demands of clients, specific load characteristics and combined loading regulations. Calculating and recalculating of dimensions, capacity, floor space and size/weight ratio, in order to gain maximum efficiency within legal standards. Communicating with drivers/hauliers so that an optimal service and loading rate can be achieved. Make sure that all changes, delays, extra costs and/or calamities are communicated to the Customer Service Department, who will inform the customers. Confirming, or taking care of confirmation, of the above to the drivers/hauliers. Deciding which loads can be handled by our own fleet and which loads will have to be chartered, so that an optimal balance will be created for our own fleet. Arranging and coordinating charter transport movements for loads outsourced to third-party carriers, including carrier selection, rate negotiation, booking, and operational follow-up, ensuring service levels and customer requirements are met. Reducing so-called “empty kilometres” by combining loads and searching for repositioning loads. Checking data after loading and comparing this data with booking details. Communicating anomalies to the Customer Service department. When involved in temperature-controlled activities, to be trained and adhere to Company standards on the carriage of foodstuffs. Core Responsibilities

Plan and settle customer transport orders by optimizing loads, calculating capacity and dimensions, coordinating drivers and hauliers, and balancing the use of the company fleet with third-party carriers. Monitor transport operations, communicate changes and anomalies to Customer Service, coordinate outsourced movements, and reduce empty kilometres while meeting customer requirements and legal standards.

Requirements

Candidates should have at least two years of work experience, topographical knowledge, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and English-language ability. An MBO or HBO-level qualification or equivalent is preferred, ideally in logistics; the role also calls for adaptability, accuracy, and a customer-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
