As Contracts Engineer, you are part of a contracts team, and you are responsible for managing and administering all main contract activities on projects. You work closely with the Project Team and other departments and interfaces as required. Furthermore, as Contracts Engineer, you are responsible for: Managing and administering all related subcontracting activities on various Projects in a timely, quality-focused and budget-driven way in accordance with the Company Management System (CMS); Contribute to subcontracting strategies; Prepare subcontracting strategies in line with the project objectives; Be the Lead contracts engineer on projects; Preparation of invitations to tender through evaluation of tender proposals and final contract award and subsequent contract administration through to close-out; Evaluate and negotiate commercial and contractual matters, and co-ordination of technical evaluation of the received tenders; Organise and lead tender clarification meetings, tender board meetings, kick-off and commercial meetings. Your profile: We are looking for a strong Contracts Engineer with a good work ethic, a professional level of attention to detail and a demonstrable commercial awareness. Furthermore, you will have: a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Legal, Commerce, Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent; 3-8 years’ experience in a contracting environment within the construction, engineering, oil & gas industries, preferably gained internationally; experience with management of a team of contractors is a plus; knowledgeable experience in major re-measurable and lump sum EPC(IC) contracts; a proactive approach to the role and be able to demonstrate added value at all times; excellent command of English, both verbally as well as in writing; the willingness to travel on short-term overseas business trips, as well as longer-term assignments.

Core Responsibilities

Manage and administer main contracts and subcontracting activities across projects, including developing subcontracting strategies and leading contract work on projects. Prepare and evaluate tenders, negotiate commercial and contractual matters, coordinate technical evaluations, lead project and tender meetings, and administer contracts through close-out.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, quantity surveying, law, commerce, business, supply chain management, or an equivalent field, plus 3–8 years of contracting experience in construction, engineering, or oil and gas. Candidates should have experience with major re-measurable and lump-sum EPC(IC) contracts, strong commercial awareness and attention to detail, excellent English, and willingness to travel; contractor team management experience is an advantage.
