Ground State Ventures is recruiting an Executive Assistant to support the work of the firm’s founder and General Partner, Ton van ‘t Noordende. Ground State Ventures operates an $88 million global fund backing high-potential quantum technology startups at their earliest stages. Across quantum computing, sensing, communications and infrastructure, the fund invests in the best teams working at the cutting edge of what's possible to build the next generation of era-defining technology businesses. Ton has a very busy schedule of meetings (both in person and remote) and events, coupled with frequent travel across the world. The role will require you to: Manage Ton’s complex calendar, coordinating meetings across time zones Take responsibility for the logistics of Ton’s frequent travel: arranging flights, hotels, and transfers Handle day-to-day office operations in Amsterdam (supplies, visitors, event logistics) Triage emails and communication, prioritizing what needs Ton’s attention Anticipate needs and act independently in ambiguous situations Coordinate expenses, admin and occasional personal tasks to ensure smooth operations Support the broader Ground State Ventures team around projects such as events when required Be available and adaptable in a fast-paced environment You will need: A high level of comfort with ambiguity – able to make the best call in situations where things are frequently changing and Ton may not be available to decide himself (e.g., a change in schedule while Ton is on a flight) The ability to interact professionally with very discerning, sophisticated investors A good eye for detail, and the ability to distinguish between what is important and what is urgent, proactively seeking that context and clarity if it’s not provided High energy and an enthusiasm for working at the very forefront of technology – where science fiction becomes reality

Core Responsibilities

Manage the founder and General Partner’s calendar, travel arrangements, communications, expenses, and occasional personal tasks, while handling day-to-day office operations in Amsterdam. Support the wider team with projects such as events and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
