We are looking for a Sugar Trader with experience in soft commodity trading, ideally with a background in sugar, cotton, coffee, or cocoa, to join our Worldwide Sugar team based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The team is responsible for the global trading and distribution of white sugar, with annual trading volumes of approximately 1,000,000 MT, predominantly in containers, across a truly global market. Key Responsibilities Trade physical sugar with a focus on an assigned region/customer portfolio, ensuring adequate margins and cost control. Create value for the company, take daily commercial decisions in line with the agreed trading game-plan. Create a long lasting and profitable relationship with your customers and suppliers. Develop new customer portfolio, actively search for new customers helping the company to increase volume of sales. Manage and report the risk of your customers’ positions. Understand global as well as regional sugar Supply and Demand, tradingflows, and update the global Sugar team with market information. Calculate multi-origins and qualities parities basis replacement values to determine best marketing strategy Work closely with sugar teams in Singapore and Brazil. Ensure counterparty risks are well recorded and controlled. Liaise with counterparties on Contract’s terms and conditions, verifying payments and coordinating claims. Actively coordinate with trade operations team and finance team on all relevant topics. Requirements Bachelor/Master Degree in Business or equivalent with specialization in International Business, Economics or Supply Chain. 3 + years of relevant working experience in commodity trading. Working experience in the Commodity industry . Experience working with Microsoft Office (computer literate). Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Fluent in French, both written and spoken. Knowledge of any other additional language is preferred. Core Responsibilities

Trade physical sugar for an assigned region or customer portfolio, manage margins and position risks, and build profitable relationships while developing new customers. Analyze global and regional sugar markets, determine sourcing and marketing strategies, and coordinate contracts, payments, claims, and operational matters with counterparties and internal teams.

Requirements

A bachelor's or master's degree in business or an equivalent field, with a specialization such as international business, economics, or supply chain, is requested. Candidates should have at least three years of relevant commodity-trading experience, Microsoft Office proficiency, and fluency in written and spoken English and French; additional languages are preferred.
