At Assist Digital (Netherlands), we are looking for a hands-on Senior Data Architect to design scalable, future-proof customer data landscapes for leading mid-market and enterprise clients. The role As a Data Architect at Assist Digital, you design the data architecture that enables consistent, high-quality and real-time data across organisations. You operate across a client's data landscape, defining how data is structured, governed and distributed to support both operational processes and a clear unified view of the customer. You bring clarity where systems, teams and data sources are complex and need to work together. You act as a senior advisor to clients on data and integration strategy, aligning stakeholders across various business departments and translating architectural direction into implementable solutions. You also contribute to raising the architectural maturity of the team through mentoring and knowledge sharing. You will further deepen your expertise in known and widely used data and integration platforms including our proprietary operational data platform Nominow. Key responsibilities What you'll be doing: Contribute to pre-sales and solution design: RFPs, architecture proposals and technical discovery workshops Translate complex client requirements into clear, implementable architecture decisions and pro-actively align stakeholders Define conceptual and logical data models for operational, governance and analytical contexts Define end-to-end data flows across the data ecosystem and advise clients on data processes and integration strategy in complex environments Establish and enforce data governance, quality and MDM principles Design integration architectures connecting operational systems, data platforms and downstream activation tools (including development of stored procedures, SQL queries and data connections) Hands-on work across a range of data platforms and integration technologies including our proprietary operational data platform Nominow Support delivery teams and mentor colleagues in architecture practices Your profile 6+ years in data architecture, data engineering or senior technical data roles (preferably consultancy/client-facing) Experience with scalable data models and integration architectures (API, event-driven, ETL/batch) Strong cloud data & integration skills (SQL, Snowflake/BigQuery/MS SQL, APIs, SFTP, ELT; Python is a plus) Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and data governance/MDM concepts Able to lead technical discussions across engineering and business stakeholders at enterprise level Ownership mindset, hands-on mentality, and strong architectural judgement Interest in AI is a plus Professional working proficiency in English required, Dutch preferred What we offer Challenging and impactful data projects for leading clients Plenty of room for ownership, initiative and professional growth A competitive salary based on experience Solid pension scheme Hybrid working environment (Amsterdam office + client projects) Daily lunch, excellent coffee and Friday drinks at our Assist Digital Bar And much more; You’ll be based in our beautiful (and bright) open-spaced office in Amsterdam-Overamstel. Core Responsibilities

Design scalable data architectures, models, governance practices, and end-to-end integrations that support operational processes and unified customer data. Advise clients on data and integration strategy, contribute to pre-sales and solution design, and mentor delivery teams and colleagues.

Requirements

Requires at least six years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a senior technical data role, with experience in scalable data models and integration architectures. Candidates should have strong SQL, cloud data and integration skills, knowledge of cloud platforms and governance or MDM, and the ability to lead technical discussions; professional English is required and Dutch is preferred.
