As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in supporting and optimizing Rabobank's Transaction Monitoring capabilities. Through advanced analytics, dashboard development, and stakeholder collaboration, you will help colleagues make data-driven decisions that increase the effectiveness of detecting potential money laundering and terrorist financing activities. Your Impact Preventing financial crime is one of Rabobank's strategic priorities. By leveraging data from millions of customer transactions, you will identify patterns, uncover opportunities for improvement, and provide insights that help operational teams focus on genuine risks and high-value investigations. Your work will directly contribute to creating a safer financial system while enabling more efficient and effective Transaction Monitoring processes. What You Will Do • Perform end-to-end analytical projects, from business intake and requirements gathering to coding, analysis, visualization, and presentation of results. • Design, build, and maintain impactful Power BI dashboards that support Transaction Monitoring optimization and decision-making. • Develop scalable and maintainable analytical solutions using Python. • Estimate and assess the impact of proposed changes to Transaction Monitoring rules and parameters • Translate complex business questions into analytical approaches and actionable recommendations. • Act as a trusted partner for stakeholders, helping them formulate the right questions and uncover opportunities through data • Drive continuous improvements and proactively identify areas where analytics can create measurable business value • Collaborate closely with data professionals, business experts, and other stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams. Examples of Assignments • Develop a Transaction Monitoring rule tuning dashboard to support optimization of monitoring parameters • Build management dashboards that provide deeper insight into the effectiveness of the Transaction Monitoring system. • Analyze customer transaction behavior to identify patterns and answer business-critical questions • Quantify the expected impact of model and rule adjustments on operational efficiency and detection effectiveness Required Qualification • Master's degree in a quantitative or technical field • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or similar analytical role • Strong Power BI expertise, including advanced dashboard development, data visualization, and storytelling with data • Solid Python programming skills, including: • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) • Software engineering best practice • Coding standards and code reviews • Writing maintainable and scalable code • Proven ability to independently lead initiatives and drive results. • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into analytical solutions • Structured, proactive, and highly organized working style • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills. • Business-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Preferred Profile • Experience working in Financial Economic Crime (FEC), AML, Transaction Monitoring, Risk, or Compliance environment • Ability to balance technical depth with business impact. • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment • Motivated by delivering measurable improvements rather than building analytics solutions for their own sake. Core Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end analytical projects, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, and build scalable Python solutions to improve Transaction Monitoring. Analyze transaction behavior and assess the impact of rule and model changes, translating findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

Requirements

A master's degree in a quantitative or technical field and at least three years of relevant analytical experience are required. Candidates should have advanced Power BI skills, strong Python and software engineering practices, and the ability to lead initiatives, communicate effectively, and collaborate with stakeholders.
