My client is a high-frequency market-making firm specialising in automated electronic trading. Founded in 2018 in Amsterdam and currently operating from Zeist. The company combines deep trading experience with a proprietary, in-house technology stack designed for ultra-low latency execution. Operating in markets that evolve by the second, and thrives by adapting quickly, scaling efficiently, and continuously capturing new opportunities through innovative infrastructure. The Role: I am currently looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their elite team and play a vital role in ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous evolution of their ultra-low latency trading infrastructure, directly enabling our traders and systems to operate at peak efficiency in highly competitive markets. Collaboration with internal teams and staying up to date with industry developments will be essential. In this fast-changing, high-performance environment, you will: Work with a fully in-house developed trading and infrastructure stack Manage and maintain a self-hosted VM park Maintain and extend the operational environment Monitor system performance and respond to technical incidents Support internal users with technical issues Set up, configure, and optimize servers and hosted VMs Maintain and extend Puppet-based Infrastructure as Code Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using: GitLab Jenkis Artifactory Gradle Develop and maintain Groovy-based automation scripts What you bring: Bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent experience) Strong experience with Linux (Debian-based systems) Working knowledge of Windows environments Affinity for scripting and automation Experience working in production-critical environments Solid communication skills (Dutch or English) Autthorization to work in the Netherlands / EU Feel free to contact me for more information, Apply, or refer a candidate open to work in this challenging environment.

Core Responsibilities

Manage and maintain the self-hosted virtual machine environment, servers, and operational infrastructure, ensuring stability and performance for ultra-low-latency trading systems. Extend Puppet-based infrastructure as code, improve CI/CD pipelines and Groovy automation, monitor systems, respond to incidents, and support internal users.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience is required, along with strong experience using Linux, particularly Debian-based systems, and working knowledge of Windows. Candidates should have an affinity for scripting and automation, experience in production-critical environments, solid communication skills in Dutch or English, and authorization to work in the Netherlands or EU.
