About your role Are you committed to excellence, accuracy and continuous improvement? We're looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Finance team in Amsterdam. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on while leading a team. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep General Ledger accounting expertise with leadership capability and thrives in a changing environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing month-end close activities, supporting business stakeholders, and driving improvements as we continue our finance transformation journey. You won't just manage the process. You'll own it, challenge it, and help shape what comes next. What You'll Do • Lead, coach and develop a team of accounting professionals • Own the end-to-end month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery • Act as the key escalation point for accounting and AP issues, independently investigating and resolving exceptions. • Own and review balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, provisions and other accounting activities, stepping into execution where required. • Ensure compliance with IFRS, local regulations and internal control requirements • Partner closely with FP&A, Controlling, Tax, Treasury, Shared Services and senior business stakeholders • Identify financial risks and proactively drive resolution and mitigation actions • Support statutory reporting and external audit activities • Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes, controls and governance • Play an active role in finance transformation initiatives, including new tools, systems and ways of working • Create clarity, structure and accountability within a dynamic and evolving environment What's in it for you • A highly visible leadership role within a leading international FMCG organisation • The opportunity to make a real impact on both operations and transformation initiatives • Exposure to senior finance leaders and business stakeholders across Europe • The chance to lead change and help shape the future of our Finance function • Career development opportunities within a global organisation • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements • Competitive salary and benefits package • The opportunity to work with some of the world's most recognised beverage brands What You need to be successful We're looking for someone who is both technically strong and naturally takes ownership. You will bring: • A recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, RA or equivalent • Strong General Ledger accounting expertise and a solid understanding of the full financial close and reporting cycle • Experience leading and developing finance teams • Exposure to a manufacturing, FMCG, consumer goods or similarly complex operational environment • Strong knowledge of financial controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting and risk management • Experience working with SAP • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills • A continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to challenge the status quo You'll Particularly Thrive If You: • Take ownership and see things through to completion • Don't wait for perfect information before taking action • Roll up your sleeves and proactively solve problems • Are comfortable working in an environment undergoing change and transformation • Adapt quickly to new processes, systems and priorities • Look for opportunities to improve rather than simply maintain existing ways of working • Enjoy supporting others and stepping in when needed to help the wider team succeed If you're a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys driving results, improving processes, and leading through change, we'd love to hear from you! Core Responsibilities

Lead and develop the accounting team while owning the month-end and year-end close, reviewing accounting entries and reconciliations, and ensuring accurate reporting and compliance. Partner with finance and business stakeholders, support audits and statutory reporting, resolve accounting issues, and drive process improvements and finance transformation.

Requirements

Candidates should have a recognized accounting qualification, strong General Ledger and financial close expertise, and experience leading and developing finance teams. The role also calls for experience in a complex operational environment, knowledge of controls and statutory reporting, SAP experience, and strong stakeholder communication and continuous improvement skills.
