About Carhartt EMEA/PAC
Industry: Retail Apparel and Fashion
Company size: 51-200 employees
Founded in Detroit, Michigan, in 1889 by Hamilton Carhartt, Carhartt began with a simple mission: to serve hardworking people by crafting honest workwear built to last. Starting with two sewing machines and a small loft, Hamilton created the iconic bib overalls after listening to railroad workers' needs—a reflection of his belief in designing products that truly serve their purpose. His motto, "Honest value for an honest dollar," has guided the brand for over 135 years. Carhartt's journey from Detroit to Amsterdam marks its evolution into a global workwear icon. By the early 1900s, the company expanded internationally, and today, Carhartt EMEA/PAC is headquartered in Amsterdam, bringing Hamilton’s vision to skilled tradespeople, craftsmen, and outdoor enthusiasts across Europe. From rugged fabrics to functional designs, Carhartt EMEA/PAC continues the legacy of crafting apparel that works as hard as the people who wear it. Still family-owned, Carhartt is rooted in Hamilton’s values of dependability, honesty, and trust. Every garment we create carries the spirit of hardworking people and embodies a commitment to quality that builds lasting loyalty. "Carhartt will always remain the badge of a better buy to those who know the value of money." – Hamilton Carhartt
