We are seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help build and scale an enterprise-grade, self-service data platform. In this role, you will create the core tooling, infrastructure, and guardrails that empower engineering teams across multiple countries to build and manage high-quality data products securely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Platform Engineering: Design, build, and optimize scalable batch/streaming data integration pipelines and self-service platform capabilities. Infrastructure & Automation: Develop reusable IaC modules (Terraform/Terragrunt) and automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions). Workload Optimization: Improve performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency for large-scale data processing workloads. Enablement & Governance: Implement cloud security best practices and empower internal engineering teams to adopt self-service workflows. Operational Excellence: Take end-to-end ownership—build, deploy, monitor, and support—including participation in a shared 24/7 on-call rotation for business-critical reliability. Tech Stack & Core Technologies Languages: Python (OOP & SOLID principles) Data Processing & Analytics: Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog Streaming & Integrations: Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, REST APIs Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Terragrunt Cloud & Security: Azure (IAM, RBAC, Secrets Management) CI/CD & Automation: GitHub Actions What We Are Looking For 6+ years of engineering experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Software Engineering. Production-grade Python expertise writing clean, testable code using modular design principles. Hands-on cloud experience in Azure, with deep expertise in Databricks, Delta Lake, and Spark architectures. Strong IaC & DevOps background using Terraform/Terragrunt and GitHub Actions. Core Responsibilities
Build and optimize scalable batch and streaming data pipelines, self-service platform capabilities, reusable infrastructure modules, and automated CI/CD workflows. Improve workload performance, reliability, and cost efficiency; implement cloud security and governance practices; and own deployment, monitoring, support, and participation in a shared 24/7 on-call rotation.
Requirements
Requires 6+ years of experience in data, platform, or software engineering, along with production-grade Python skills and modular, testable code practices. Candidates should have hands-on Azure experience, deep expertise in Databricks, Delta Lake, and Spark, and strong Terraform/Terragrunt and GitHub Actions experience.
