APG Asset Management is looking for a Senior Data Management Risk Manager to join the Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance Monitoring (ERM-C) team. The role sits within the second line of defence and focuses on strengthening the governance, control, monitoring, and demonstrability of data management risks across APG Asset Management. The successful candidate will help translate data management policies and control objectives into effective control measures, guide strategic data-management initiatives, and advise senior management and risk committees on data-related risks. Key Responsibilities Act as a strategic advisor for the implementation of data management policies and control objectives. Develop and align new data management control objectives based on APG AM's evolving IT/data landscape. Guide the implementation and embedding of the data management capability from a risk and control perspective. Establish and demonstrate effective controls around data management risks. Develop a CFRO user-awareness program for data management in collaboration with Compliance. Provide solicited and unsolicited advice to the APG AM Management Board and AM Risk Committee. Report the data management risk profile within ERM-C risk reporting. Support audit and risk-related investigations by ensuring controls and risk management are demonstrable. Work closely with Data & IT specialists in an international environment. Transfer knowledge and raise the data-management expertise of the existing BAU team. Required Experience 5–10 years of proven experience in data management, preferably within a financial institution/banking environment. Experience in a comparable data management risk/control role. Experience within the first or second line of defence. Strong understanding of data management risks, controls, governance and risk management. Experience translating policies/control objectives into practical and demonstrable control measures. Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels. Experience working with senior stakeholders, management boards, risk committees and/or audit functions. Comfortable working with Data & IT specialists in an international environment. Strong stakeholder management, communication and advisory skills. Energetic, decisive and persistent in a rapidly changing environment. Professional proficiency in Dutch and English.

Core Responsibilities

Advise on data management policies and control objectives, develop and embed effective controls, and monitor and report data management risks across APG Asset Management. Advise senior management and risk committees, support audits and investigations, and build data management expertise within the team.

Requirements

Requires 5–10 years of data management experience, preferably in financial services, including experience in a comparable risk or control role and a strong understanding of data governance and risk management. Candidates should be able to translate policies into demonstrable controls, advise senior stakeholders, work with international Data and IT specialists, and communicate professionally in Dutch and English.
