Do you want to help shape Wärtsilä’s common digital technology direction across global digital R&D teams while building partnerships that support innovation, cyber resilience and business value? We are looking for a Senior Analyst with a key role in shaping, coordinating and enabling a common digital technology direction. The preferred location for this position is Finland, but the Netherlands and Serbia are also negotiable. Hybrid work is possible. Your Role And Responsibilities As a Senior Analyst, you will help advance Wärtsilä’s common digital technology agenda by creating structure, visibility and alignment across selected strategic topics. Your work will connect digital technology strategy, cyber resilience, research collaboration and internal enablement into a more coordinated way of working across Wärtsilä digital R&D. You will join the Digital Technology and Partnerships team within the Digital Research & Development department. In this role, you will work with colleagues across digital R&D organisations and support functions, helping stakeholders align on priorities, understand complex topics and turn broad themes into practical collaboration and follow-up. The scope of the role may be adapted to reflect your individual skills and interests. Your work will focus on these responsibilities: Facilitate alignment on common digital technology topics across Wärtsilä digital R&D organisations, including DRD, Engine Automation & Controls, and Energy Power Systems & Controls. Contribute to shaping a common digital technology direction and translating strategic themes into practical collaboration and follow-up. Coordinate selected cyber regulation, cyber awareness and departmental risk management activities with relevant experts. Build and maintain external relationships with research and funding ecosystem partners. Help key support functions across Wärtsilä understand and support the needs of the digital domain. Strengthen cross-domain collaboration, knowledge sharing and shared ownership across digital R&D teams. To succeed in the position, we expect you to have: Knowledge & experience Demonstrated problem-solving capability and the ability to create practical, innovative solutions. Good understanding of Agile and Scrum frameworks and cross-functional ways of working. Ability to work with complex and sometimes ambiguous topics and turn them into clear next steps. Communication & networking Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships. Ability to communicate effectively with experts across technical, business and organisational domains. Innovation & change Ability to embrace continuous improvement, learn continuously, and stay current with relevant software engineering and cyber security practices. Motivation to contribute to innovation and sustainable digital technology outcomes. Additional experience in the following areas would be considered an advantage: Knowledge of software architecture and design principles. Knowledge of cyber security best practices and experience with product and corporate compliance. Teamwork & leadership Ability to lead by example, create clarity and enable shared ownership in a collaborative team environment. Core Responsibilities

Coordinate alignment and collaboration on shared digital technology priorities across Wärtsilä’s digital R&D teams, translating strategic themes into practical follow-up. Support cyber regulation, awareness and risk activities, build external research and funding partnerships, and help internal functions support the digital domain.

Requirements

The role requires strong problem-solving, communication and relationship-building skills, an understanding of Agile and Scrum, and the ability to turn complex or ambiguous topics into clear actions. Candidates should be collaborative, adaptable and committed to continuous learning; knowledge of software architecture, cybersecurity practices and compliance is an advantage.
