Job Description As a Research Intern, you’ll explore how AI can transform the daily work of mechanical engineers. Your goal is to identify practical opportunities where AI tools can automate, accelerate, or improve engineering tasks and develop concepts that demonstrate their potential in a real-world engineering environment. Map the engineering workflow – Analyze common mechanical engineering tasks such as 3D modelling, technical drawing creation, BOM generation, cost-price calculations, requirements specification, testing, validation, and simulations Identify AI opportunities – Investigate which mechanical engineering activities could be automated or enhanced using AI and assess their potential impact Research AI solutions – Explore existing AI tools, technologies, and approaches relevant to mechanical engineering and evaluate their capabilities and limitations Define use cases – Select promising applications and translate them into clear, practical use cases based on business and engineering requirements Develop Proofs of Concept – Prototype selected AI applications to demonstrate how they could support or automate engineering tasks Evaluate feasibility – Assess the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and practical applicability of AI solutions in a professional engineering environment Recommend next steps – Translate your findings into concrete recommendations for how AI could be integrated into the mechanical engineering workflow Qualifications Currently studying Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field Strong interest in AI and its practical applications in engineering Good analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills and able to present findings clearly Proactive and independent working style Comfortable exploring new technologies and translating research into practical solutions Available to work at least 3 days per week from the office Additional Information 💼 What We Offer: A hands-on internship in an international team. Core Responsibilities

Analyze mechanical engineering workflows to identify and assess opportunities for AI to automate, accelerate, or improve engineering tasks. Research and prototype promising AI applications, evaluate their feasibility in a professional engineering environment, and recommend practical next steps for integration.

Requirements

Applicants must be currently studying Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, and have a strong interest in applying AI to engineering. They should have analytical and problem-solving abilities, communicate findings clearly, work proactively and independently, and be comfortable exploring new technologies; availability to work from the office at least three days per week is required.
