ABOUT THE ROLE AND YOUR IMPACT

You will be the commercial engine of the procurement function, the person who finds the money, builds the case, runs the negotiation, and delivers the savings - supporting and guiding all the other functions within the organization. You won't wait to be asked. You will dig into the spend data, identify where the company is overpaying, and go after it, vendor by vendor, contract by contract, category by category. Some examples:

  • SaaS contracts for our HR, Finance, Product and Customer Service tools

  • Cloud & Connectivity contracts for our vehicles

  • Lease contracts for our warehouses

  • Lease contracts for our offices

  • Contracts with our Payment Service Providers

You will play a central role in delivering value to the business beyond cost savings securing the right terms, quality, service levels, and lead times.

Your main objectives:

(1) Shaping processes, strategy and culture

  • Review and update our company wide frameworks and approval flows for procurement activities

  • Guide and support functions in their day to day procurement, partnering with business stakeholders and the legal team to drive the best commercial outcome for the company

  • Challenge the "we've always done it this way" mentality with market data, alternatives, and commercial logic

  • Create and execute short and long-term procurement strategies for top vendor spend

  • Promote a cost discipline culture across the organization

(2) Achieving better terms and savings

  • Proactively identify and pursue savings opportunities by analysing spend data, spotting overpriced contracts, and benchmarking against the market

  • Create competitive tension in every sourcing event to maximize company leverage, even with strong incumbents

  • Establish long-term partnerships with strategic suppliers without letting relationships prevent hard negotiations

  • Lead all commercial negotiations for material procurement, owning the deal from strategy through to signed contract

  • Prepare and present deal reviews to senior decision-makers with clear verdicts, highlighting financial impact, risks, and trade-offs

(3) Leveraging AI & Automation to improve what we do

  • Leverage AI and automation to streamline procurement processes, spend analysis, contract lifecycle management, and benchmarking

  • Automate the delivery of reports and KPIs (savings vs. budget, risk & compliance, renewals) for timely and actionable data insights

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new procurement technology and digital tools to drive efficiency and competitive advantage

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-10 years of experience in commercial procurement or strategic finance with experience across a wide range of spend categories

  • Experienced negotiator with a proven track record of securing best-in-class terms and personally closing deals.

  • A self-starter who identifies opportunities, builds plans, and executes with minimal management direction.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a fast-paced environment (start-up/scale-up), comfortable with ambiguity and building processes from scratch.

  • Experience building or deploying AI solutions in-house to create efficiencies within procurement.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including advanced Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, graphs, data modelling).

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, P2P tools, and contract management platforms.

  • Excellent communicator able to build strong internal networks, influence leadership, and push back using data.

  • Comfortable challenging senior stakeholders and suppliers alike with evidence-backed positions.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
