Ride your bicycle along café-lined waterways, visit the most creative shops around De Pijp or just kick back by the canal and try a few cold Dutch beers. It’s pretty hard to get stressed in Amsterdam, but having a good time is easy. Generator Amsterdam is located in the up-and-coming eastern side of the city overlooking Oosterpark. This former zoological university building can accommodate 564 guests in 168 twin and quadruple rooms with incredible views on the surrounding and en-suite bathrooms. There is also one luxury apartment for six people with views of the park and a self-catered kitchen. It has flexible and spacious social areas, filled with creative design touches like glass-fronted elevators, a raised café and an outdoor terrace. We’ve turned the former lecture hall into an impressive chill-out lounge and bar, while the old library is now a relaxation and private events room. The basement and café are now dining destinations and the original boiler room has become a secret late-night bar. NUTS AND BOLTS OF THE JOB Assist the F&B management team to create a smooth-running operation and provide an excellent service To support with initiative and commitment to the overall objectives of the business in terms of revenue, costs and teamwork Take ownership of the guest journey to ensure that we create a truly unique Generator experience Respond quickly and efficiently to all customer requests and enquiries, ensuring that you maintain a “can do” attitude at all times Demonstrate in depth knowledge of both the food and beverage menu Know all statutory legislation and ensure H&S, Fire Safety and Food Hygiene compliance Develop and train all employees within your charge in order that they perform to the required standard Communicate effectively so that the team understands its goals and is motivated to achieve them Naturally this is not intended as an exhaustive list of duties. Core Responsibilities

Support the food and beverage management team in running smooth operations, delivering excellent guest service, and meeting revenue, cost, and teamwork objectives. Oversee the guest experience, respond to customer requests, maintain safety and hygiene compliance, and train and motivate team members.

Requirements

Candidates should have relevant food and beverage experience, a passion for contemporary food and drink concepts, and knowledge of the city. They should be organized, hardworking, commercially minded, strong communicators, able to work under pressure, available as needed, and eligible to work in the EU.
