As a Senior Network Engineer at ONEXP, you will design, deploy, and support the high-availability, secure networks that serve as the backbone for our industry-leading audiovisual and automation solutions. This role bridges enterprise-grade IT infrastructure with cutting-edge entertainment systems. What to expect You will take part in the critical IT infrastructure projects that are built to bring our astonishing Audiovisual and automation solutions to life. This involves: Network Architecture: The design, deployment, and maintenance of the Cisco core, distribution, and access layer switches in a highly available topology. AV/IT Network Convergence: Implementing advanced IP-based AV distribution networks (including Crestron NVX architectures) to facilitate modern, high-speed signal switching. System Integration Support: Ensuring robust network communication and performance for media control platforms (OMNIYON) and integrated automation suites. Redundancy & Failover: Ensuring redundancy and failover for the network core using >40 Gb links and best practices for critical infrastructure. Wireless Infrastructure: Managing, configuring, and optimizing large-scale wireless infrastructures with 800+ access points, leveraging centralized controllers. Performance Optimization: Monitoring of network performance and proactively resolving issues to guarantee uptime and user satisfaction. Scalability: Planning and executing network expansions and upgrades to support evolving technical needs. What you bring Technical Skills & Experience: Cisco Expertise: Proven experience with Cisco switches (core, distribution, and access) and wireless solutions in large environments. Network Topology: Strong understanding of redundant topologies, VLANs, and large uplink deployments (>40Gb). Wireless Management: Hands-on expertise with wireless controller management, high-density Wi-Fi planning, and troubleshooting. AV/IT Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiarity with Network-based Audio/Video protocols (such as AV-over-IP or converged AV/IT systems) is a plus. Hardware & Security: Familiar with PoE budgeting, centralized network management tools, and Fortinet environments. Soft Skills & Language: Communication: Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills. Languages: Your English is excellent in writing and speaking. Preferably you speak Dutch. Travel & Eligibility Requirements: International Travel: About half of the work we do is outside of the Netherlands. Frequent international travel is required for this role whereby you will be abroad during some weekdays but back home in the weekend. Places we travel often to are in Spain, France, Germany, and Turkey. Work Authorization: We are only considering EU citizens already residing in the Rotterdam region for this role, as we do not provide relocation support and/or sponsorship for a work/residence permit. Core Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain highly available Cisco network infrastructure, including core, distribution, and access layers, redundant links, and large-scale wireless networks. Support converged AV/IT systems, including Crestron NVX and OMNIYON, while monitoring performance, resolving issues, and planning network upgrades.

Requirements

Candidates should have proven experience with Cisco switching and wireless solutions in large environments, plus expertise in redundant topologies, VLANs, high-density Wi-Fi, and wireless controllers. Familiarity with AV-over-IP, Fortinet, PoE budgeting, and centralized network management is beneficial; excellent English, EU citizenship, residence in the Rotterdam region, and frequent international travel are required.
