Cx Relay Engineer – Netherlands | Data Centre Projects Location: Netherlands Industry: Data Centres / Critical Infrastructure Contract: Permanent / Long-Term Project Start: ASAP / Flexible About the Role We are looking for experienced Cx Relay Engineers to join our growing commissioning team in the Netherlands, supporting major hyperscale data centre projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical commissioning professional with a strong background in protection relays, MV/LV systems and commissioning to work on large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects. You will be working directly on data centre projects, supporting the testing, commissioning and validation of critical electrical systems before they are handed over and placed into operation. Key Responsibilities Carry out protection relay testing, commissioning and validation on MV/LV electrical systems. Perform primary and secondary injection testing. Test and configure protection relays and associated electrical protection systems. Complete functional and operational testing of electrical systems. Review and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and protection schematics. Identify and troubleshoot faults during commissioning activities. Complete commissioning documentation, test sheets and reports. Support pre-functional and functional testing through to final system handover. Work closely with commissioning managers, electrical engineers, QA/QC teams and client representatives. Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely, accurately and in line with project procedures. Attend site meetings and provide technical updates on commissioning progress. Support the wider commissioning team during integrated systems testing and project close-out. Experience Required We are particularly interested in candidates with: Proven experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer / Protection Relay Engineer / Cx Relay Engineer. Strong hands-on experience with protection relay testing and commissioning. Experience working with MV/LV electrical systems. Experience with primary and/or secondary injection testing. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and single-line diagrams. Experience testing and commissioning electrical distribution systems. Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability. Experience working on large-scale industrial, infrastructure, power or data centre projects. Previous data centre commissioning experience is highly desirable. Experience with major OEM protection equipment such as Siemens, Schneider, ABB, GE or similar is advantageous. Strong understanding of electrical protection principles and commissioning procedures. Ability to work independently while also operating effectively within a wider commissioning team.

Core Responsibilities

Test, configure, commission, and validate protection relays and MV/LV electrical systems, including injection testing, functional testing, and fault troubleshooting. Document commissioning results, coordinate with project teams and clients, and support integrated systems testing through handover and project close-out.

Requirements

Candidates should have proven electrical commissioning or protection relay experience, hands-on relay testing skills, and experience with MV/LV systems and injection testing. They should be able to interpret electrical drawings, troubleshoot faults, and work independently and collaboratively; data centre experience and familiarity with major OEM equipment are advantageous.
