Role Title: Security Compliance Officer Location: Utrecht, NL. Employment Type: Contract ********************************************** About the Role We are looking for a Security Professional to serve as the security focal point. You will drive a secure-by-design culture, ensuring security, resilience, fraud prevention, and compliance are embedded throughout the software delivery lifecycle. Working closely with Engineering, Architecture, Risk, Security, and Product teams, you will help design, build, and operate secure solutions that meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements. What You'll Bring Experience Essential · 5+ years' experience in Cyber Security, Security Engineering, DevOps, Software Engineering, or IT Risk Management. Experience in Agile and DevOps environments. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience with vulnerability management and security controls. Preferred · Banking, financial services, fraud prevention, sanctions, or other regulated environments. Cloud security experience (Microsoft Azure preferred). DevSecOps, penetration testing, audit, and security assessment experience. Experience with Pega and/or Pega Cloud security. Education & Certifications · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, IT, or Engineering (or equivalent experience). Preferred Certifications · Security+, AZ-900, SC-900, PenTest+, GISF CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCSP, Microsoft Security Certifications, GIAC Technical Knowledge · Secure SDLC / DevSecOps OWASP Top 10 & Threat Modelling Identity & Access Management (IAM) Authentication, Authorisation, Encryption & Key Management Vulnerability Management & Security Monitoring Azure Cloud Security Zero Trust & Defence-in-Depth Network Security & Security Automation Cloud Architecture & Security and SaaS Solutions Pega / Pega Cloud knowledge is a plus Operational Resilience Key Competencies · Stakeholder management and influencing skills Risk-based decision making Analytical thinking and problem solving Strong communication and presentation skills Coaching and mentoring capability Collaboration and relationship building Continuous improvement mindset Success in This Role You will: · Embed secure-by-design practices across delivery teams. Strengthen application, platform, and operational security. Reduce security, fraud, and compliance risks. Drive timely remediation of vulnerabilities and audit findings. Improve overall security maturity. Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal security requirements. Enable secure, resilient delivery while maintaining business agility.

Core Responsibilities

Embed secure-by-design practices across delivery teams and strengthen application, platform, and operational security. Reduce security, fraud, and compliance risks by driving vulnerability remediation and audit findings to completion while supporting resilient, agile delivery.

Requirements

Requires at least five years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, DevOps, software engineering, or IT risk management, along with experience in Agile and DevOps environments, vulnerability management, and security controls. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required; experience in regulated industries, Azure, DevSecOps, penetration testing, audits, and Pega security is preferred.
