Our Architecture team in the Netherlands is expanding, and we are looking for an Architect to join our growing Science, Industry & Technology team in Amsterdam. You will work on a diverse portfolio that may include data centres, advanced manufacturing facilities, laboratories, technology campuses and industrial developments. These projects are frequently technically demanding and international in nature. They require architects who can understand complex operational requirements while maintaining a clear architectural vision. We are looking for someone who enjoys balancing spatial quality, functionality, sustainability, technical coordination and buildability. We believe that architecture for science, industry and technology should do more than accommodate processes. The Netherlands Architecture team’s established service focus includes feasibility studies, concept through technical design, project consultancy, digital design and Science, Industry & Technology projects. The Opportunity As an Architect within our Netherlands team, you will take an active role in developing and delivering projects from early feasibility and concept design through to technical implementation. You will work directly with clients, project managers, architects, engineers and specialist consultants to create integrated design solutions. Depending on the scale and stage of the project, you may lead architectural work packages, coordinate parts of the multidisciplinary design and support the management of project deliverables. This role is suited to an architect who combines a strong design sensibility with confidence in technical delivery. You will help develop architectural concepts and narratives, translate complex briefs into clear spatial solutions and maintain design quality as projects progress. You will also contribute to the development of the team by sharing knowledge, supporting junior colleagues and helping strengthen our architectural culture and Science, Industry & Technology expertise. As An Architect At Arup, You Will Develop architectural designs from feasibility and concept stages through to technical delivery. Translate client briefs and operational requirements into clear, coherent architectural solutions. Develop design concepts, spatial strategies and compelling architectural narratives. Lead architectural work packages and coordinate associated project deliverables. Maintain architectural quality and design intent throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare and review drawings, specifications, reports, presentations and other architectural information. Develop, coordinate and review BIM and Revit-based project information. Work closely with engineering and specialist disciplines to resolve multidisciplinary interfaces. Participate in and, where appropriate, lead client workshops, design reviews and technical coordination meetings. Balance architectural ambition with programme, cost, sustainability, operational and technical requirements. Support planning, permitting and regulatory coordination within the Dutch context. Contribute to sustainable, circular and adaptable design solutions. Support proposals, bids, competitions and other business-development activities. Mentor and support Graduate Architects and junior team members. Contribute to a collaborative design culture through internal reviews, knowledge sharing and constructive design dialogue. You should be comfortable working between creative design development, technical coordination and multidisciplinary project delivery We Would Particularly Value A master’s degree in Architecture. Approximately five to eight years of relevant professional experience. A strong architectural portfolio demonstrating design and delivery experience. Proven experience working on complex building projects. Strong capability in Revit and BIM-based project delivery. Experience coordinating architectural information with engineering and specialist disciplines. An understanding of Dutch planning, permitting or building-regulation processes. The ability to communicate design ideas clearly to clients, colleagues and project stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage architectural work packages. A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues at different career stages. Professional proficiency in spoken and written English. Working proficiency in Dutch. Eligibility to work in the Netherlands. The Following Would Be Advantageous Experience within Science, Industry & Technology sectors. Experience with data centres, laboratories, advanced manufacturing facilities, technology campuses or industrial buildings. Experience maintaining design quality through technical design and delivery. Familiarity with computational design, information management or digitally enabled design processes. Experience working on international projects. German language skills. Polish language skills. Requirements

The role seeks an architect with approximately five to eight years of relevant experience, a strong portfolio, experience with complex building projects, and strong Revit and BIM delivery capabilities. A master's degree in Architecture, Dutch planning and regulatory knowledge, professional English, working Dutch, and eligibility to work in the Netherlands are particularly valued.
