Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Test & Calibration engineer to help transfer a product range from our client's site in Capelle aan den IJssel (NL) to their UK site in Telford. You'll be the hands-on expert who learns the process from the Dutch team, documents it, and sets up the UK team to run it independently. The assignment Contract of approximately 6-9 months, or as the project requires Time split roughly 50/50 between the Netherlands and the UK, with travel and stays in the Netherlands as needed Fast-paced, PE-backed environment where processes are still evolving What you'll do Work alongside the Capelle team to capture test and calibration know-how, and document test procedures, checklists and calibration certificates Support the Telford team in validating and testing instruments, and in diagnosing and repairing faults Build and manage the test and calibration transfer plan, including a training programme for Telford technicians, engineers and team leaders Review the existing test and calibration equipment, identify gaps, and raise CAPEX requests for the Telford setup Support the laboratory setup, including layout and environmental controls, and keep everything compliant with applicable standards Flag process and product improvement opportunities along the way What you bring A degree in electronics or electrical engineering, or extensive hands-on experience testing and calibrating instruments or laboratory equipment Proven experience performing calibrations and creating calibration certificates Fault-finding down to component level Strong organisation skills, able to juggle several priorities and meet deadlines Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with sound judgement when priorities shift Good written and spoken communication, and comfortable coaching others

Core Responsibilities

Capture and document test and calibration processes at the Netherlands site, then transfer the knowledge, equipment requirements, and training to the UK team. Support instrument validation, testing, troubleshooting, laboratory setup, standards compliance, and process improvements.

Requirements

A degree in electronics or electrical engineering, or extensive hands-on experience testing and calibrating instruments or laboratory equipment, is required. Candidates should have calibration and certificate experience, component-level fault-finding ability, strong organization and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and coach others.
