At Boels, we're constantly improving and growing. As our new Manager Accounting Operations, you are responsible for the smooth execution of our accounting operations across multiple countries. What You'll Do You will lead a team of 19 international finance professionals (5 direct reports), define strategy and drive process harmonization and standardization, and are responsible for compliance, efficiency, and service excellence. You are both a people leader and a change driver who thrives in an international environment and enjoys optimizing processes while building high-performing teams. You report to the Manager Financial Accounting. As Manager Accounting Operations, you are responsible for the performance, SLAs, compliance and continuous improvement of the Accounting Operations teams. You actively: Coach and develop your team leaders and accounting professionals to become the best version of themselves. Manage and control team performance against KPIs and service level agreements, and report on team performance to management. Conduct periodic performance and development reviews with your direct reports. Directly manage the invoicing staff and oversee the departmental manual invoicing process. Provide first approval of bank payments. Act as the escalation point for operational and stakeholder issues that exceed Team Leader authority. Foster collaboration across Finance and the wider Boels organization. Create an engaged, motivated, and high-performing team culture. Drive process optimization, standardization, and harmonization initiatives across the different areas where people are located. Identify and initiate opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and automation. Support M&A integration projects and ensure successful onboarding of newly acquired companies. Support IT and treasury-related projects. The team 'Accounting Operations' is responsible for: The correct and timely processing of daily and monthly accounting activities. The efficient, accurate, and timely execution of the company-wide invoicing process. The payment process. High-quality balance sheet reconciliations. Monitoring of cash discrepancies and detection of possible fraud cases related to cash and suspense accounts. Timely and accurate VAT filings, statutory submissions, and reporting obligations. Execution of internal controls and compliance with accounting standards, the internal control framework, company policies and reporting obligations. What You Bring At least a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar leadership role, preferably in an international environment. Solid knowledge of accounting principles Strong people management, coaching, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with process improvement, project management, and change management. A hands-on, proactive attitude and the ability to perform under pressure. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Affinity with IT systems and innovation. Excellent communication skills in English, preferably you speak Dutch. Heb je interesse? Core Responsibilities

Lead an international accounting operations team, managing performance, service levels, compliance, invoicing, payment approvals, and staff development. Drive process improvement and standardization, support acquisitions and IT or treasury projects, and ensure accurate accounting, reconciliations, filings, and internal controls.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field and 3–5 years of relevant experience in a similar leadership role are required; international experience is preferred. Candidates should have strong accounting knowledge, people and stakeholder management skills, experience with process and change improvement, analytical and organizational abilities, IT affinity, and excellent English communication; Dutch is preferred.
