THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) Benelux is seeking a motivated Intern to join its Investment Banking team in Amsterdam. The internship will start in January 2027 and will run for four months, with the possibility of a two-month extension. This position is driven by the continued growth of our franchise and offers the opportunity to support a diverse client base across the Benelux region, including corporates, financial sponsors, and high-growth companies, in delivering strategic advice and financing solutions. We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. As an Intern, you will contribute to both transaction execution and ongoing client engagement. Working closely with senior bankers, as well as industry and product specialists, you will support the delivery of tailored solutions across mergers and acquisitions, as well as equity and debt financing. This role provides broad exposure to a wide range of clients and emphasizes teamwork, continuous development, and long-term value creation. To succeed in this role, you will: Support the execution of advisory and financing transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets activities, and other strategic initiatives Perform financial analysis and valuation work to support client recommendations Prepare high-quality client materials, including presentations, briefing notes, and transaction documentation Conduct market and industry research to support strategic dialogue and idea generation What You’ll Bring Our people are our greatest strength. Professional Experience Interest in investment banking, corporate finance, or a comparable field; prior relevant experience is an advantage. Education Currently pursuing or in possession of a master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or a similar field, with demonstrated interest in finance and strong analytical capabilities. Languages Fluency in English; Dutch language skills are considered an advantage. Hard Skills Strong analytical skills, with a solid foundation in accounting and valuation methodologies. Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Soft Skills Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and responsible approach to work. The role calls for English fluency, a foundation in accounting and valuation, clear communication, strong organization, and a proactive, team-oriented approach; Dutch and relevant prior experience are advantages.
