As an Energy Optimization Engineer, you play a key role within the Flex team. You develop and maintain smart algorithms and software that determine when energy assets consume, store, or feed energy back into the grid. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, data science, and optimization, directly contributing to a reliable, sustainable, and flexible energy system. As an Optimization Engineer, you are: The person who develops smart optimization algorithms that enable flexible energy assets of both business and residential customers to be used in the most effective way. Responsible for the real-time control and orchestration of sustainable assets, translating market signals, customer needs, and grid constraints into the optimal operational strategy. Developing and maintaining products, APIs, data pipelines, and proprietary services to ensure our solutions remain reliable, scalable, and production-ready. Driven to keep applications scalable, high-performing, and robust through the continuous development of monitoring, alerting, and self-healing processes. A connector between technology and business, translating complex challenges into practical and future-proof solutions for the energy market. Who are you? You are an experienced professional who can translate complex technical and business challenges into practical, scalable solutions. You enjoy working with modern technologies, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and believe that software should not only be smart, but also reliable and maintainable. Additionally, you: Have a Master's degree level of thinking and working, for example in Econometrics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Equivalent experience can also demonstrate this level. Have extensive experience with Python and developing maintainable, production-grade code based on object-oriented principles. You are also enthusiastic about strengthening these practices within the team. Have proven experience with data engineering and data analytics tools such as Polars, PySpark, and SQL. Experience with dbt, DuckDB, or Snowflake is considered a plus. Are familiar with professional software development practices, including Git, unit and integration testing, and CI/CD. Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM is a plus. Have experience in the energy market or a strong affinity with the dynamics of this sector. Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex technical and business challenges into pragmatic and scalable solutions. Have a proactive mindset, enjoy contributing ideas, and actively support knowledge sharing and the further professionalization of the team. This ambitious and entrepreneurial team, consisting of Developers, Data Scientists, and other specialists, works on innovative energy management solutions. You will be given plenty of freedom to take initiative and help develop innovative solutions from pilot projects into fully operational products. Requirements

Candidates should have master's-level education or equivalent experience, extensive Python experience, and a background in data engineering and analytics tools such as Polars, PySpark, and SQL. They should also know professional software development practices, have energy-market experience or affinity, and demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and knowledge-sharing skills.
