For our client, we are looking for a Python Data Engineer to join the Intelligence Data Engineering and Analytics team. In this role, you will help build and maintain their core market data and reporting platform, constructing Airflow data pipelines, integrating with financial data vendors, and automating reporting workflows using modern, AI-assisted engineering practices. What you’ll do Design, build, and maintain Apache Airflow data pipelines and automation workflows. Connect platform capabilities with external financial data providers and internal services. Manage configurations and deployments across test, user-acceptance (UAT), and production environments. Contribute to internal shared Python libraries, CLI tooling, and automated reporting systems. Utilize AI coding tools daily to accelerate delivery while maintaining high software quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope, code-review, and ship end-to-end features rapidly. What we’re looking for Strong core Python skills with a commitment to writing clean, well-typed, and testable code. Advanced SQL proficiency (writing/optimizing complex queries without relying heavily on ORMs) and hands-on PostgreSQL experience (indexes, query plans, schema design). Demonstrated experience with pipeline orchestration tools (specifically Apache Airflow). Comfortable operating within modern containerized (Docker) and cloud-native environments. Comfortable and effective using AI coding assistants as a routine part of your daily workflow. Proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and balances speed with architectural reliability. Core Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Apache Airflow pipelines and automation workflows for a core market data and reporting platform, integrating external financial data providers with internal services. Manage deployments across test, UAT, and production environments, contribute to shared Python tools and automated reporting, and collaborate with teams to deliver end-to-end features.

Requirements

The role requires strong Python skills and advanced SQL proficiency, including hands-on PostgreSQL experience with indexes, query plans, and schema design, as well as demonstrated Apache Airflow experience. Candidates should be comfortable with Docker and cloud-native environments, routinely use AI coding assistants, communicate proactively, and ideally have familiarity with financial market data or post-trade systems.
