As QC Engineer, you will join the Supply Chain team and help ensure that equipment and materials delivered by suppliers meet project, contractual, quality and applicable regulatory requirements. The role combines engineering understanding with practical supplier-quality coordination and inspection activities.

You will work across different project packages, including areas such as jacking systems, cranes and aftermarket activities. During your first months, you will become familiar with GustoMSC projects, products and processes from end to end, before taking on greater technical responsibility and independent ownership.

The position is based in Schiedam, Netherlands, with regular office presence and international travel. Travel is mainly within Europe and typically involves short trips of one or two days, although assignments of up to approximately one week and occasional travel outside Europe may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support supplier inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), kick-off meetings and quality audits.
• Review and coordinate supplier quality documentation and verify compliance with contracts, purchase orders, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and technical specifications.
• Identify, initiate and follow through on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), punch-list items and technical queries until closure.
• Prepare clear and accurate inspection and supplier-visit reports and follow up on agreed corrective actions.
• Coordinate quality activities and technical interfaces with suppliers, engineering teams, project stakeholders and other relevant parties.
• Apply your understanding of materials, welding, structures and fabrication to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Contribute to project packages as a Package Engineer and, as experience develops, potentially take broader Package Manager responsibilities.
• Support continuous improvement of quality methods, standards and working practices while following NOV HSE requirements.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Relevant engineering background, particularly in mechanical engineering, materials or a comparable technical discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent level of capability gained through relevant experience.
• Practical understanding of materials, welding and structural/fabrication principles.
• Relevant professional experience sufficient to work independently in an engineering or quality environment; this is intended as a mid-level rather than graduate position.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with suppliers and internal technical stakeholders.
• Strong written and spoken English, including the ability to produce clear technical and inspection reports.
• Proactive and independent approach to identifying and resolving quality issues within established processes.
• Willingness and ability to undertake international business travel, primarily within Europe.
• Driving licence. 

Preferred

• Previous QA/QC, supplier quality, equipment verification or vendor quality management experience.
• Experience within offshore, marine or another relevant engineered-equipment/fabrication environment.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering rules, regulations and quality standards.
• Experience with fabrication workflows, inspection planning and/or document-control systems.
• Dutch language capability for communication with local suppliers.
• VCA VOL certification.
