Do you want to play a key role in the automation of some of the world's largest airports and parcel distribution centers?

As a Controls Project Engineer at Vanderlande, you will design and implement PLC control software for complex material handling systems used by leading customers worldwide. From engineering and programming to testing and commissioning on-site, you'll be involved in the complete lifecycle of innovative automation projects while working in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

Your role

As a Controls Project Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and testing PLC control software for complex material handling systems. From the early engineering stages through to on-site commissioning, you will play a
key role in delivering reliable and high-quality automation solutions.

Working in a multidisciplinary project team, you will collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to translate customer requirements into robust control solutions. Once the engineering phase is completed, you will have the opportunity to travel internationally and bring your software to life by commissioning systems at customer locations around the globe.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, and program PLC software based on project specifications.
• Work closely with project leaders, integration managers, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality control solutions.
• Perform testing, debugging, and validation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Commission and optimize PLC systems at customer sites worldwide.
• Integrate PLC software into the overall control architecture.
• Support customer acceptance testing and ensure successful project delivery.
• Monitor project planning, milestones, and budgets, proactively addressing risks and challenges.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by sharing lessons learned and best practices.
  

What do we ask from you?

You are an analytical and hands-on engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and collaborating with international teams.

Additionally, you bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Science, Controls Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with PLC programming, preferably using Siemens TIA Portal.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, pragmatic, and results-driven mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different disciplines.
• A willingness to travel internationally up to 50% of your time.
• Professional proficiency in English.
  

What do we offer?

In this role, you can expect a monthly salary between €4,300 and €6,200 gross, excluding 8% holiday allowance, based on your experience and qualifications.
