Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Homologation Engineer specializing in EU Conformity of Production (COP) and Certificate of Conformity (CoC) frameworks. You will ensure our vehicles and components comply with EU Regulation 2018/858 and related UNECE standards. You will manage the entire lifecycle of type-approval maintenance, lead authority audits, and oversee CoC data generation to guarantee uninterrupted market access across Europe. Additionally, you will be responsible for tracking upcoming regulatory updates and new regulations. Key Responsibilities COP Management: Design, implement, and maintain COP control plans across manufacturing sites to ensure production vehicles match type-approved designs. eCoC Management: Own the creation, data validation, and digital signing of eCertificates of Conformity (eCoC) and Initial Registration data (e.g., EU-wide IVI systems). Authority Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for European Technical Services and Approval Authorities (e.g., RDW, TUV) during COP audits. Regulatory Tracking: Monitor, interpret, and implement updates to EU and UNECE regulations (including GSR II, Euro 7, etc.). Communicate legal notifications throughout the engineering organization. Non-Conformity Resolution: Lead root-cause analyses and corrective action plans when production deviations or test failures occur. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Plant Operations to embed compliance requirements into the manufacturing line. Required Skills & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in automotive, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of automotive homologation experience, with a direct focus on EU type-approvals (Whole Vehicle Type Approval – WVTA). Regulatory Expertise: Deep operational knowledge of EU Regulation 2018/858, General Safety Regulation (GSR II). Knowledge and experience with homologating heavy-duty vehicles is a plus. Quality Standards: Strong understanding of automotive quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and COP audit methodologies. Tools: Proficiency with CoC generation databases, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and data exchange formats (XML). Languages: Fluency in English is required; Dutch or German is preferred. Traveling: Open for traveling to international production locations. Interpersonal competences: Strong analytical, organizational and documentation skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to work cross-functionally. Assertive, optimistic, resilient and welcomes change. Core Responsibilities

Manage EU type-approval maintenance, production conformity plans, and the creation and validation of digital Certificates of Conformity. Coordinate with approval authorities, track regulatory changes, lead audits and corrective actions, and work with engineering, quality, and plant teams to maintain compliance.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in automotive, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline, plus 3–5 years of automotive homologation experience focused on EU type approvals. Candidates should know EU Regulation 2018/858, GSR II, COP audits, and automotive quality systems; English fluency is required, while Dutch or German is preferred.
