As an Embedded Software Designer, you develop and test software for high-tech products and machines. In this role, you support our clients in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical equipment industries mainly in the Randstad area with smart, sustainable, and reliable software solutions. Your software expertise plays a crucial role in bringing these high-tech solutions to life. What excites you as a Embedded Software Designer? You will dive deep into real-time embedded software, ranging from bare-metal to embedded Linux, and contribute to secure and robust solutions that millions of people rely on every day. Develop bare-metal embedded software in C and C++ Create automated tests in Python Work with real-time OS like FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Embedded Linux Design and implement state machines and real-time logic Integrate communication protocols such as UART, SPI, CAN, I2C Apply Functional Safety standards (IEC 61508, SIL) and MISRA coding guidelines Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams focused on knowledge sharing and technical excellence Sounds good so far? We'd love to tell you more… Your future workplace This is what you bring to the table A Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer engineering, Embedded Systems, or similar 5 year experience Hands-on experience in embedded C/C++ software development A strong grasp of real-time systems and safety-critical software A passion for code quality, performance, and safety Knowledge of hardware and communication protocols (UART, SPI, CAN, I2C) Curiosity about new technologies and tools Fluent in English and Dutch This is what you can expect in return from Sioux Flexible 32-40 hour working week, with room to work from home. Important note: This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the US Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require Sioux to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Design, develop, and test embedded software for high-tech products, including bare-metal C/C++ software, real-time logic, and automated Python tests. Integrate communication protocols and contribute to secure, robust, safety-focused solutions in multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

A bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, embedded systems, or a similar field is required, along with five years of experience. Candidates should have hands-on embedded C/C++ experience, knowledge of real-time and safety-critical systems and hardware communication protocols, and fluency in English and Dutch.
