Set your compass to Rhenus and set sail with us! For our ocean freight import department in Rotterdam (Waalhaven), we are looking for a customer-focused and decisive Forwarding Operator. FUNCTION As a Forwarding Operator, you will ensure that our customers' needs are met efficiently within our ocean freight import operations. You will independently plan and coordinate LCL and FCL shipments, while handling the necessary operational, administrative and commercial activities.This includes preparing and processing all required shipping documentation and ensuring smooth shipment handling. You will maintain regular contact with customers, local agents and shipping lines, both nationally and internationally. ABOUT YOU The Forwarding Operator we are looking for has a flexible and motivated attitude, is customer oriented, works well as part of a team and has a strong eye for detail. For this position, we consider the following important: MBO-level education, preferably with a completed logistics qualification; experience as a freight forwarder in ocean freight, gained through internships and/or work experience; and good command of both Dutch and English, both written and spoken. The Forwarding Operator Import is a full-time position based on 40 hours per week. Core Responsibilities

Independently plan and coordinate LCL and FCL ocean freight import shipments, handling the required operational, administrative, and commercial activities. Prepare and process shipping documentation and maintain regular contact with customers, local agents, and shipping lines in the Netherlands and internationally.

Requirements

MBO-level education is requested, preferably with a completed logistics qualification, along with ocean freight forwarding experience gained through internships and/or work experience. Candidates should be flexible, motivated, customer-oriented, detail-focused, able to work in a team, and proficient in spoken and written Dutch and English.
