Job Description

Business Analyst Credit Risk Data (Definition of Default) · Amersfoort · 36 hours · until 4 June 2027 €6,700 to €7,600 gross a month, plus 8% holiday allowance. You're employed by BrightStone Group and work in the mortgage business of a large Dutch bank. Every bank in Europe had to apply the EBA's definition of default by January 2021. Applying it was one thing. Making the mortgage data agree with it, loan part by loan part, all the way into the Finance and Risk reports, is the job that's still open. That's this one. The bank's mortgage business runs a programme on the Definition of Default: every exposure classified correctly under the EBA rules, and a default flag that holds in every report downstream. You'd join the team that owns the data side of it. Reporting solutions, data processes, data quality. What the work is • Take a rule from the regulation (days past due, the materiality threshold, unlikeliness to pay, when a default cures) and work out what it means for the mortgage data: which fields, which counters, which cut-off dates • Write that as business requirements the developers and data engineers can build from, and refine it with them sprint by sprint • SQL. You size the population, check what was built, and find where the data is wrong before the regulator does • Be the person the team asks what the regulation actually requires of default data • Several topics at once, with Risk, Finance and IT each wanting something different. The team says high pressure and means it What you bring • Regulatory change at a bank, in credit risk. If it was the Definition of Default itself, put it at the top of your CV • SQL you write yourself • You've turned a requirement into a backlog before, and the engineers didn't have to come back three times • A bachelor's or master's degree • Good English. Dutch helps, it isn't required • Hands-on. The bank wants someone who does the analysis, not someone who runs the programme What to know before you apply • Start is early October. Two months' notice and you'll miss it • It runs to 4 June 2027. An extension is possible, nobody has promised one, and your contract with us runs for the same period • You live in the Netherlands and already have the right to work here. We can't sponsor a visa • You'll be screened before you start, by us and by the bank • Hybrid, from Amersfoort • BrightStone Group is your employer and the bank is our client, so this isn't a vacancy at the bank itself. I'll tell you which bank on our first call Applying Apply through this post, and put one line at the top of your CV: the credit-risk regulation you implemented, at which bank, and what you built for it. That line decides whether we speak this week. Questions first? Email [email protected].

Core Responsibilities

Translate EBA Definition of Default rules into business requirements for mortgage data, and refine those requirements with developers and data engineers. Use SQL to assess populations, validate implementations, identify data issues, and advise the team on regulatory requirements for default data.

Requirements

Applicants should have hands-on experience implementing regulatory change in bank credit risk, ideally the Definition of Default, and be able to write SQL and translate requirements into actionable development backlogs. A bachelor's or master's degree and good English are required; Dutch is helpful but not required, and applicants must already have the right to work in the Netherlands.
