Role Description The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer is part of the Engineering team at Millux, which also consists of Factory Engineers, R&D engineers and Project leads. The team is lead by the Engineering manager. The NPI Engineer is responsible for driving new products from concept to stable series production in a on-site role based in Wijchen. This role includes liaising with clients regarding manufacturability, conducting parameter testing on machines, programming machines, creating prototypes and hand over projects to production. A versatile role with many responsibilities. The engineer collaborates closely with R&D, production, quality, and customer engineering teams to translate design requirements into robust, scalable processes and work instructions. Day-to-day tasks involve planning and tracking NPI projects, organizing and executing tests and trials, analyzing process data, and implementing improvements to ensure quality, yield, and on-time delivery. The role also includes preparing technical documentation, supporting customer technical reviews, and ensuring smooth handover of new products to operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline. 5-10 years experience in a similar role, preferably in an international environment. Strong analytical skills, including data interpretation, problem-solving, and root cause analysis. Research and Development (R&D) capabilities, such as experimental design, process optimization, and collaboration with product and process engineers. Project Management skills, including planning, organizing milestones, coordinating stakeholders, and managing timelines and resources. Product Development experience, including translating customer specifications into manufacturable solutions and supporting design-for-manufacturing activities. Testing skills, including defining test plans, executing trials, documenting results, and validating process robustness. Relevant experience in laser processing, precision manufacturing, or semiconductor/high‑tech environments. Strong communication skills, ability to work in cross-functional teams. Fluent or Native speaker in Dutch language and fluent in English are both manditory. What do we offer you? Core Responsibilities

Drive new products from concept through testing, prototyping, and process development to stable series production, including customer manufacturability discussions and machine programming. Coordinate NPI projects with R&D, production, quality, and customer engineering teams; analyze process data, document processes, implement improvements, and hand over products to operations.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline, along with 5–10 years of relevant experience. Candidates should have strong analytical, R&D, project management, product development, and testing capabilities, relevant precision manufacturing or laser-processing experience, and fluency in Dutch and English.
