Job Description About BYCS BYCS exists to radically increase the number of people cycling - particularly those who have the most to gain and face the biggest barriers. We do this because cycling is transformative - improving health, building equality and creating more prosperous communities. Through our actionable research, practical programmes with local partners, and global network of city leaders, we create the conditions that allow cycling to thrive. About the role The Social Media & Content internship role supports BYCS’ storytelling, social media, and advocacy work by helping turn projects updates and network activity into clear, engaging content that amplifies community-led impact. It’s a hands-on, learning-by-doing communications role. ● Location: Amsterdam, Overtoom ● Hours: Preferably 3 days a week ● Start date: as soon as possible ● Contract length: 4 - 6 months (flexible) ● Compensation: €300/month student internship stipend What You’ll Do ● Own and manage BYCS’s Instagram and LinkedIn channels, including the content creation and performance monitoring. ● Research and write blog posts and project stories, working with project managers to develop compelling content. ● Support our programme teams to capture videos, quotes and stories from project participants. ● Contribute content ideas for future campaigns as part of the Communications Team. ● Maintain and update the Communications Calendar. ● Periodically share work, insights and learnings with the wider BYCS team. Core Responsibilities

Manage BYCS’s Instagram and LinkedIn channels, create content, and monitor performance. Research and write project stories, help programme teams capture participant stories, contribute campaign ideas, maintain the communications calendar, and share learnings with the team.

Requirements

Applicants should be studying or have a background in communications, media, graphic design, or a related field, and enjoy writing, storytelling, and social media. Excellent written English, willingness to learn digital tools, interest in urban mobility, sustainability, and social impact, and comfort working in an international, multicultural environment are sought.
