Finance Trainee – Hospitality & Real Estate Amsterdam | Full-time Are you at the beginning of your finance career and looking for a role where you can learn much more than just processing invoices? We are looking for a curious and proactive Finance Trainee who wants to build a strong foundation in finance and gradually take on more responsibility. As a Finance Trainee, you will become part of the Aedes Finance team and work closely with colleagues across Hospitality and Asset Management. This is an all-round finance role. You will be involved in different parts of the finance function and gradually take ownership of recurring responsibilities. Your activities will include: Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable; Processing and reviewing financial transactions; Preparing bank reconciliations; Supporting balance-sheet reconciliations; Assisting with the monthly closing process; Supporting P&L and balance-sheet reporting; Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation; Supporting payroll-related finance activities; Assisting with hotel and restaurant financial reporting; Supporting financial administration relating to our real-estate activities; Assisting with audit and year-end preparations; Helping improve finance processes and reporting; Working with different finance and hospitality systems; Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc analyses and projects. What can you expect to learn? This role is intended to give you a strong practical foundation in finance. You will develop experience in: Financial administration Learning how accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and financial records work in practice. Month-end closing Understanding how monthly results are prepared and how P&L and balance-sheet accounts are reviewed and reconciled. Financial reporting Learning how financial information is prepared, checked and presented to the business. Hospitality finance Understanding how hotel and restaurant revenues, costs, payroll and operational activities translate into financial results. Payroll and finance administration Learning how payroll information connects to accounting and financial reporting. Controls and accuracy Understanding why approval processes, reconciliations and documentation are important for reliable financial information. Finance systems and processes Working with finance and hospitality systems and learning how processes can be improved and made more efficient. Working with the business Understanding how Finance interacts with Hospitality, Asset Management and other departments. Over time, the objective is that you become comfortable handling recurring finance activities independently and understand how the different parts of the finance function connect. You in a nutshell We are not looking for someone who already knows everything. We are looking for someone with a good basic understanding of finance, a willingness to learn and the curiosity to understand what is behind the numbers. You: Have completed or are close to completing an HBO or WO degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, Hotel Management or a related field; Have a basic understanding of accounting and finance; Are comfortable working with Excel; Are accurate and structured in your work; Are curious and comfortable asking questions; Want to understand why the numbers look the way they do, rather than simply processing them; Take initiative and are willing to gradually take ownership of your responsibilities; Can work independently but also know when to ask for help; Enjoy working with different people and departments; Are interested in hospitality and real estate; Are interested in systems, technology and improving processes with AI; Have a good command of English. Dutch is an advantage. Previous experience in hospitality or real-estate finance is useful, but not required. What’s in it for you? Core Responsibilities

Support the finance team with accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, monthly closing, reporting, payroll-related activities, and financial administration for hospitality and real estate operations. Maintain accurate records, assist with audits and ad-hoc analyses, and help improve finance processes and reporting.

Requirements

Applicants should have completed or be close to completing a degree in finance, accounting, business economics, hotel management, or a related field, and have a basic understanding of finance and accounting. They should be accurate, structured, curious, comfortable with Excel, interested in hospitality and real estate, and proficient in English; Dutch and relevant industry experience are advantages but not required.
