Your contribution will be Providing daily care and husbandry for rescued animals Monitoring animal health and behaviour and reporting any concerns Supporting veterinary treatments and animal transfers Delivering species-appropriate enrichment and positive reinforcement training Performing daily checks of enclosures, fences, alarms, and technical equipment Your profile ideally illustrates Relevant experience in animal care, husbandry, or a similar role, preferably with wild or exotic animals A vocational or higher education qualification in Animal Care, Zoology, Veterinary Nursing, or a related field Good command of the Dutch language Basic IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate animal records A responsible, proactive, and team-oriented attitude with strong observation and communication skills Eligibility to work in the Netherlands and possession of any required permits or certifications Passion for animal welfare and FOUR PAWS’ vision and mission Our offer includes The opportunity to truly contribute to global animal welfare A dynamic work environment where no two days are the same Birthday leave: an extra day off to use around your birthday The minimum gross annual salary for this position starts at 19,991 EUR in accordance with our internal compensation scheme This is a temporary position running until June 2027 At FOUR PAWS we stand up for animal welfare worldwide by empowering everyone to contribute their unique and authentic experiences and to show compassion for animals, people, and the planet. Core Responsibilities

Provide daily care and husbandry for rescued animals, monitor their health and behaviour, and report concerns. Support veterinary treatments and transfers, provide species-appropriate enrichment and positive reinforcement training, and inspect enclosures, fences, alarms, and equipment.

Requirements

Relevant animal care or husbandry experience is preferred, particularly with wild or exotic animals, along with a qualification in animal care, zoology, veterinary nursing, or a related field. Candidates should have a good command of Dutch, basic IT and recordkeeping skills, a responsible and team-oriented approach, and eligibility to work in the Netherlands with any required permits or certifications.
