Siemens Cranes Project House is looking for an experienced Technical Account Manager who can turn complex automation challenges into clear, valuable solutions for customers worldwide. About The Role Siemens Cranes Project House is a global player in crane electrification, automation and digitalization. We deliver integrated hardware and software solutions for highly automated harbor crane operations, from digital twin simulations to fully automated crane systems. In this role, you join a Netherlands-based sales team of six colleagues and work closely with the global account management organization. You act as the technical and commercial bridge between customers, sales teams and engineering experts. Your technical credibility is essential: you understand industrial automation and use that knowledge to advise customers, shape solutions, and create sustainable business growth. The international scope of the position involves approximately 20% travel, including regular intercontinental business trips that typically last one week. You'll create impact by Translating complex customer challenges into technically sound and commercially attractive solution concepts, together with sales and engineering colleagues. Preparing technical and commercial proposals and actively supporting contract negotiations in coordination with management and key stakeholders. Building and expanding trusted relationships with management teams, technical experts, OEMs and end users in the global crane industry. Supporting the sales organization in achieving targets and developing opportunities with existing and prospective customers. Analyzing markets, customer needs, technology trends and competing portfolios to identify strategic opportunities. Developing business plans and maintaining accurate opportunity reporting in CRM systems. Your success is grounded in A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related field is required. A master's degree or specialization in automation is advantageous. At least five years of relevant B2B experience in a technical account management, sales engineering, or comparable customer-facing role within an international, complex project environment. Strong technical knowledge of industrial electrical automation systems and the ability to discuss solutions credibly with engineering experts and customers. Experience in the container port, terminal handling, or crane industry; closely related heavy-industry automation experience may also be relevant. A winning combination of engineering experience and strong interpersonal skills: you communicate clearly, listen carefully, present convincingly, and influence stakeholders at every level. The ability to collaborate across functions, manage several bids or opportunities simultaneously, and maintain attention to detail under time pressure. Fluent written and spoken English, combined with a willingness to travel internationally; additional languages and international experience are advantages.
