You will take ownership of development projects and data analysis, help shape new capabilities, and work in a small team where your contribution makes a visible difference. We are looking for someone who communicates clearly, actively works with colleagues and takes initiative. You should feel comfortable bringing ideas forward, asking questions, sharing progress and helping others solve problems. The data we work with is unusually varied: signals and sound, images and video, free text, and molecular data spanning genetics, epigenetics, the microbiome, proteomics and metabolomics. Each brings different challenges, and part of your role will be choosing methods that fit the problem. Clear visualisation and explanation of results are central to the work. Must have Excellent communication skills: you explain ideas clearly, listen carefully and keep colleagues informed about progress, challenges and next steps Strong teamwork: you collaborate proactively, share knowledge and support colleagues in achieving shared goals Initiative and ownership: you spot what needs doing, propose practical solutions and follow through without waiting for detailed instructions Strong interest in biology and/or healthcare Experience with Python and backend development, such as Django and REST APIs Experience with AI and machine learning tools, such as PyTorch or scikit-learn A degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, AI or a related field Big plus but not required Deep learning experience with sound, images or video Bioinformatics or omics data analysis experience Experience deploying models or data pipelines into production Who you are You enjoy solving problems, building useful tools and delivering high-quality work. Core Responsibilities

Collaborate with colleagues to translate scientific and customer needs into data pipelines, analytics workflows, backend services, APIs, and web applications. Develop and evaluate machine learning models across varied data types, visualize and explain results, and proactively improve the reliability and performance of solutions.

Requirements

Applicants should have a degree in a quantitative discipline and experience with Python, backend development, and AI or machine learning tools, along with a strong interest in biology and/or healthcare. The role also requires clear communication, proactive teamwork, initiative, and ownership; deep learning, omics analysis, and production deployment experience are advantageous but not required.
