For our student lacrosse association, Wageningen Warriors, we are looking for a: Lacrosse Coach Men As the Men's Lacrosse Coach, you will be responsible for coaching the Wageningen Warriors men's team. Every Thursday, you will lead a training session from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the outdoor fields of Sports Centre De Bongerd. You will be working with Wageningen Warriors, a student lacrosse association with approximately 60 members, ranging from beginners to experienced players. The men's team competes in the 2nd Division of the Dutch National Lacrosse League, organised by the Dutch Lacrosse Association (NLB). Your primary responsibility is to coach and develop both competitive and recreational players. You will help improve their technical, tactical, and physical skills, with the aim of raising the overall playing standard, increasing enjoyment of the sport, and achieving strong results in competition. In addition to the regular training sessions, you will participate several times a year in team meetings, staff meetings, professional development activities, WeDay, the AID (Annual Introduction Days), and/or staff social events. These activities take place outside your regular working hours. You will work here The Sports Centre de Bongerd (SCB) of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is responsible for the sports program for students and staff of WUR. A total of 6500 students and 900 employees actively use the sports centre, which consists of 45 specialized sports teachers, 9 management and administration staff. The CPC has an initiating and active role in the implementation of the health program Vital@work. The sports centre is located on the edge of the campus and is the base for the various student sports associations. Due to the large number of international students and staff, the language of instruction on campus (and at Wageningen Warriors) is largely English. Your qualities You are an active, proactive individual with strong customer focus, teamwork, sociability, coaching skills, flexibility, and enthusiasm. In Addition, You Have/are Several years of playing experience and proven experience coaching lacrosse players at both youth and adult levels; A motivated and enthusiastic coach who demonstrates clear leadership while keeping the interests of the club in mind; A coach who can maintain authority over the group while also being approachable and willing to be part of the team's social activities after matches or training sessions when appropriate; Comfortable working with the student population in an informal and approachable manner; A coach who supports the development of existing members while successfully integrating new students into the team; Able to design and deliver training sessions that suit players of different skill levels; Someone who fits the current club culture and has experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds; Able to work independently and proactively; Proficient in both Dutch and English is mandatory. This is a temporary appointment for an initial period of 12 months. An extension to a permanent contract of 2 teaching hours per week is possible. Core Responsibilities

Coach the Wageningen Warriors men's lacrosse team in weekly training sessions, developing players' technical, tactical, and physical abilities across different experience levels. Participate in team and staff meetings, professional development, and selected club and university events.

Requirements

Applicants must have several years of lacrosse playing experience and proven coaching experience with both youth and adult players. They should demonstrate leadership, approachability, adaptability, cultural awareness, and the ability to coach players of varied skill levels; proficiency in both Dutch and English is mandatory.
